Most things are documented in my build thread link in my sig.
Wow, my picture was from early Dec, only a month ago. That area must have seen some good rain since. Including Coyote Canyon! Wonder what Diablo Dropoff looks like.
O man. That's up there with my worst fears on the road with trailers. Did someone wave you down? At least you have two axles.
Like @linuxgod , I've thought to carry a whole hub. I have an extra set of bearings and seals so I could rebuild on the road if it weren't grenaded. I carry a...
Can't wait to get out to more camping with prime camping season just ahead (at least in San Diego). The love of off-roading, stories around the campfire, and food!
The Dexter type torsion axles are awesome and I honestly put them above many one off custom offroad suspensions that trailer companies come out with. Rubber has natural damping qualities. The designs are also time tested and less likely to fatigue failures that are so often seen in custom...

He's getting 34" ATs and will join the shinanigans off-road.
The case for upgrading all bulbs to LEDs, larger group 31 primary battery, and adding hatch lights.
I often leave a couple sets of ambient lights on for hours. For 2-3 days without starting the car to recharge. Prioritizing low draw LEDs to make reserves go longer. I don't like bright...
Great list!
To echo what you're saying - in my experience, there really is no such thing as a perfect setup. It's trip dependent. I prefer to keep my rig flexible and adaptable.
Also having experienced most configurations, less is more. Even with the promise of off-road trailers being...
