    hopefully that works for you. Here is how Mark's gears does it. When I snapped the photo just now I realized I never staked the nut. I had always thought Mark's gears were the issue until you have the same issue with the slinger.

    Nope it was there. My issue came after I installed Mark’s gears. The whine was there before and didn’t change after rebuild using the new gears. I went back and measured the spacer and it was the proper length.

    That is exactly what I found in my split case when I swapped trans. The oil slinger was gone and melted the seal the rear case. I was able to grind it out and install another seal. I did not put another slinger in.

    My split case is tearing itself apart. I have been changing oil every other oil change and it’s getting darker and darker every time. Gears sound like a Formula 1 car. I’m down for seeing some carnage so I know what to expect at some point. I’m hoping it will last long enough until I go back...

    Thats the one thing I miss. The vent pointed at my balls in the 80 series.

    I'm right there with you. It's been 5 years in the 80 with no AC. I'm thinking you have it worse in Florida with the humidity than I do in Austin.

    You can get used to no AC. The worst I had was driving the BJ40 last summer. Austin to Little Rock and the temp inside the cab never got below 105 during the day. First time as an adult I drove with no shirt, no shoes in my bathing suit but it was a must.
