Ho Ho HO, I like that idea! That could work since I'm only driving in a few feet. Kevlar tires might hold up?
If I can find the 16x4 rims locally for a few bucks that would be a winner. I just checked some ebay auctions and I think they are smoking crack for $140 for a 16x4 rim with no tire...
Great idea, that was in the discussion when the tireless rims were discussed but 3/4 ply is still stupid pricey here in TN. The Guniwheels would be a cheaper option over the ply and steelies.
That's neat but I don't want to be in thr humid summer or freezing winter doing major work. Spent the last 2 years with no garage and lived in tents and a bare driveway and I'm moving on from the nomad life back to a garage now that I have a house again.
Yeah, same in TN...even in AZ where I've spent most of my life. The positive side is the wife is pushing hard for me to build my 40x60 shop with 10 foot doors to park the 80 in and get another car for a DD. Gotta love that woman! If I win the lottery, I'll be doing just that!
No dice there. Above the garage was a huge porch that they made a living room out of. The garage is actually part of the basement and had a deck above it. Not sure why they didn't raise the ceiling before building the room but they had a small car in there. My garage I park in just fits the...
That pic is awesome, it's exactly what I started with using low profile tires, the donut spares are perfect. Agreed, driving in is the primary goal, the dolly were a loose plan B. I'll start digging for those donuts!
Yeah, I can't pull the wheels for the dolly as the front dust shields will hit the dolly first. I never thought about using straps to compress the suspension, that, with the flat tires may work. There's a bit of overhead room once the door shuts but only a couple of inches.
I have a carport/garage conversion with low clearance but large 4 car capacity. I am looking for a solution to swap out my 33 inch tires for a low profile solution to fit into my garage for major service (birfs, engine work, etc.)
The idea is to swap the large tires for say, 16" OEM inch...
