You can modifier a non-locked housing to fit a OEM locker.
Some notching and drill and tap for some extra studs that the locker has 😉
I would look for a good used front axle.
Then you get a nice stash of extra parts.
There’s still deals out there to be had.

If you have a center Diff lock button engage that then put the transfer case in neutral this will allow you to spin the axle shaft.
Gummycrabs is right almost.
If you rotate the driveshaft it moves both axles equally and that won’t help.
You need to Rotate one axle or the other tell you here the locker engage.
I don't think it's the sector shaft.
The sector shaft gets twisted when the tire hit's something not the diff.
Is the steering wheel off center or is it just pulling to the right ?
