I'm sure details will be added as TFL hasn't yet released a video after taking it to the dealer. Yes...

    FJ62 3FE Knock Diagnosis / next steps

1988 FJ62 3FE at 268k miles. Noticed a knock sound Monday (the day after a long 300 mile trip in the high country roads around Silverton, CO). Knock sound comes from front of engine near cylinder 1. Only hear it when it is in D or Reverse and idling at 750rpm. If I shift into N or P I cannot...

Thoughts on this spring hanger rust?

I'm working my way through the OME suspension install this week on my FJ62. DS rear leaf spring bracket is clean on all other sides except this one in the pic below. Planning to grind the bubbled up rust down smooth, and proceed with the greasable OME shackle install for the time being. Is...

FJ62 auto trans gears vs rpm question

Anyone know the RPM the FJ62 auto trans should be at in 4th (or overdrive? is there a 4th?) cruising at 55mph on 31" tires? I've searched around the site quite a bit to no avail. I test drove a rig recently I'd like to consider and it seemed like the tranny was staying in 3rd all the way up to...
