Triangle Monthly Meeting - July 12 @ 7pm @ Backyard Bistro in Raleigh

Was planning to make it but today turned to garbage and I just left the office. On the bright side I saw a good looking LX450 as I exited onto 54 and got up on 540. On a sadder note, I was hoping to talk with y’all about needing to sell my 80. It needs to go unfortunately. Changes at home have...

It’s been too long but I’m hoping to get out there. Spring soccer has <mostly> wrapped so have a bit of flexibility now.

Hey @little_joe - yeah I got you. Where are you located? I'm off Leesville about a mile from 540.

    TWT -- The Wrenching Thread

Believe it or not, the transfer case needs oil to keep running effectively. /s I hadn’t been keeping up with it as well for the previous year. We sold our house and lived in an apartment while house hunting; then it got cold and didn’t want to deal with stuff outside. Turns out that even a tiny...

    TWT -- The Wrenching Thread

Guys- today is the freaking best. January will be two years since I killed my transfer case. After many days of procrastination, anxiety, anger, hopefulness, frustration, and thoughts of giving up, I was able to drive my cruiser! @GLTHFJ60 helped so much along the way. Even letting my crap sit...

    TWT -- The Wrenching Thread

Finally got the transfer case fully in. Finishing the button up and have a question: Does it matter which bolt attaches the ground strap? Mine was really badly torn before removal and I don’t remember where it was originally connected.

    TWT -- The Wrenching Thread

Finally got the rebuilt transfer case reinstalled. Got it lifted and pushed in. Tightened up the six bolts (including two new that go in from the front). Then as I was reconnecting the electrical I realized the shift lever was stuck between the body and the motor actuator on top of the TC. Can’t...

3FE Discouraging tale (valves, oil galley, and knocking)

Sorry for the late reply - work/life balance has been tough as of late. I had zero issues after my desmog. I haven't come across anyone with a 3FE having issues after desmog. Never seen codes thrown or anything. Only seen that with 1FZ engines -- that's where the resistor hack comes in. I'd...

    TWT -- The Wrenching Thread

I think that's what I need. The oil seal behind (or in front of, depending on vantage point) the flange. I think everything else with the front diff is good. Just leaking there. Was thinking I could pull the flange and replace just the seal, without having to replace the bearing and other parts.
