There is some backlash in the drive train but I wouldn't call it excessive. Not knowing the age or the usage of the vehicle my thoughts would be to compare it to another of a similar age. If there is a difference then start checking your driveline. Universal joints right through to the diffs...
Matti,
It is crucial that the dump pipe is upgraded as well. The hot expanding gases from the turbo outlet are at their most potent at this point. So allowing the exhaust gases to expand and produce more work on the turbo vanes. The standard dump pipe is way too restrictive at this point...
Matti,
The wire connecting/spliced to the ECU wiring loom are to the power wire and the accelerator pedal position sensor. Nothing else goes to the ECU.
As for the LED's. One is probably a power LED to indicate that the unit has power. The other maybe lights up when under heavy load like the...
Tepui You have got to stop listing that manual it is sh%t. And I know you know that as you have stated it in the past. Get a Haynes or Gregory's manual. They are actually the same company now. A pretty good manual but you will need the supplement for the 1KZ-TE engine.

Nope, You will need to fit another alternator. Not sure if yours has a vacuum pump fitted but if it does you will need one that also has the vacuum unit on it. Mine doesn't have the vacuum unit, and I think it is a 90amp alternator. Depending on where you are you should be able to exchange your...
Dhula,
The remote module is tucked away up under the dash on the passenger side towards the side of the foot well area. It has a long wire on it that is the aerial and I think the case is black.
Why don't you try just unplugging that module and see if that deactivates the remote feature or the...
Dhula,
I take your point on flaking of the paint hadn't thought of that. I used the tried method of the trusty fish oil anyway in the end. There is bugger all weight in it and I don't think it will make any difference. Like yours the pipe fit through the guard is as tight as a fish's bum. Have a...
I'm not an expert on these engines, but if it runs fine and then after the engine "heats up" there is a problem it may be the proximity of the sensor to the trigger. The heating up is causing expansion in the metal and the sensor may be moving far enough away from the trigger to stop it working...
Hey Dhula,
I've started doing your snorkel mod and guess what. A 2.5" steel exhaust pipe fits nice and snug into the air cleaner box with the original plastic sleeve still in place. So I've got the great guys at Maroochy Exhaust Centre getting some bits together for me i.e. quarter donut, some...
Brownbear,
Thanks for the support on that point. I've got a thread on another forum of the same topic more or less. I've posted some photos and other tech info on the DPChip there.
This is the link to the other forum.

Dhula,
I think the injectors are only required to be serviced at 150000km so your not quite there yet. I'm running MTR's at the moment and not getting as good milage as you are. But considering the performance I'm now getting I'm not really surprised. I think my Prado is a Maserati. :D

Dingo,
I'm not sure if you have been following this same issue I started on another forum. Here is the link, you may be interested in some of the DPChip info on there also.

Hey Dhula,
That 11.6 l/100 km your quoting, what sort of tyres are you running. Also roof rack, bullbar, winch etc. That is to say what other accessories have you got on or not got on that may affect the economy.
