SOLD  Vancouver, BC: 1991 HDJ81 VX Limited. Factory lockers

I purchased it in 2014 and maintained it regularly since. Recent inspection report attached. No accidents. No rust. No smoking. Drives great super quick off the line (relatively speaking), sounds great, looks great, always a conversation starter. I'm the second BC owner. Selling it because I no...

    Pitman and drag link geometry

This sounds very likely. It only started when the Robison coils went in. I'll have a good look round there when I get it off the ground. Btw, you have sexy looking axles. Wish mine were like that.

    Pitman and drag link geometry

I'll check it out. Thank you! I've wiggled everything around in there, but its always been while the truck is on the ground. I bet if I let the axle fully droop, it was be much more informative.

    Pitman and drag link geometry

Here are a couple other pics of the front end setup. Its definitely not a sway bar bushing (there is no front sway bar). All the rod ends drag and tie rod have been replaced within 6 months. Thanks again for the perspectives. -Jamie.

    Pitman and drag link geometry

Will check there too. Thanks! It (sound) only seems to happen on the driver (right hand drive) side. Either its because its steering related or its just closer to me and I can hear it!

    Pitman and drag link geometry

Since replacing my aged OME suspension with new coils, I've heard a clunking sound when I encounter particular types of bumps. I've checked and wiggled everything in the front end. My thinking is that the geometry on the drag arm end and pitman is off - as a result the rod end whacks the pitman...

SOLD Factory Winch - 80 series. Fully functional with Remote (but no bumper)

Believe so! It its a factory winch that once had a factory bumber. It tucks up really nicely between the frame rails, unlike after market bumers and winches that are "out front".

SOLD Factory Winch - 80 series. Fully functional with Remote (but no bumper)

About 150 USD last I checked a couple weeks ago. Once a box is "on the truck" the cost is only marginally different throughout the lower 48.

Updated asking price - cheaper! Winch needs a new home.

SOLD Factory Winch - 80 series. Fully functional with Remote (but no bumper)

You are mostly correct! I never had the original bumper so I cant say from direct experience. However, upon looking closer, there is 1 piece one would need to make it work with a US bumper. I've indicated the piece in the attached photo (in blue). The part holds the fairlead. I am otpimistic...

SOLD Factory Winch - 80 series. Fully functional with Remote (but no bumper)

Im only looking to replace it with a more compact one. So if I can cover the costs (or mostly), then I'm happy.

SOLD  Factory Winch - 80 series. Fully functional with Remote (but no bumper)

Selling my fully functional 12v Factory winch from my HDJ81 - winch works perfectly and only removed it because it didnt fit my new, very low profile bumper. All components required for use are included: winch (obviously), the contoller and carry case, the electrical relays (if you want them)...

CDL mystery - slow to engage - actuator is ok.

Figured I would close-out this topic. The electrical grounds in the footwell were all crusty and gross. A little clean and everythign works fine. One should always remember Occams razor - start with the simplest explanation first. Ok, well thats not really Occams razor, but it good enough.

CDL mystery - slow to engage - actuator is ok.

Yes, absolutely. When the CDL is ON and steady, the rears still werent locking yesterday. It was odd.

CDL mystery - slow to engage - actuator is ok.

This is really really great to know!! Thank you!. I thought it might not be locking because the rear locker was not locking despite driving in snow on lots of bends. Maybe that (the rear) is now a different issue. Sigh.

CDL mystery - slow to engage - actuator is ok.

There are many, many posts that seem to talk of CDL issues. The very detailed pnwadventures post was and awesome run through the system, but doesnt address my issue. I've tried each test with no avail. Hoping there might be some be helpful thoughts out there. Main sympton: CDL is temperamental...
