When I bought my 91 the front wheels did not turn but the drive shaft did . . It was a broken front axle shaft, once replaced the front wheels started working properly.

    Troubleshoot Front Wheels not turning

The shaft was broken and here is a picture of what I replaced to make it work. Just swap (Same bolt pattern) with a 93 flange which is longer than the 91 and you can now use the 93 shafts. It could have been fixed using the proper flanges but I had a free one sitting here and upgrading to 93...

I believe the PO replaced both shafts with ones from a 93.

    Transmission shift points

I studied transmissions years ago and I remember something about a "Modulator" that you could shorten or lengthen the pin on it to do a custom job on the shift points as well as valve body modification but this was for my 65 mustang. A lot of transmissions were designed similar so I would be...

    Drive 80 w/o Computer?

Kevin, the best way to verify which wire is which is with a meter. Check for continuity from each side of the wire to verify that you are connecting the correct wires to correct pin slots.

I'm getting 5 miles a gallon. Any ideas why?

I would (already have) read this link. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/653835-92-lc-running-rich-high-co-hc-failed-emissions.html

I'm getting 5 miles a gallon. Any ideas why?

I would not replace the ECM unless it is bad and they rarely go bad. If your ECM is not getting the proper signal, it will work incorrectly(.) and dump fuel. It may be getting a signal that the engine is running lean or maybe it is getting a signal of a vacuum leak and needs to compensate with...

    Troubleshoot Front Wheels not turning

It was the drivers side shaft, here is a picture of what was broke. I have two 91 LC so I took the shaft off of one (which was longer) and used it instead. Been working fine.

    Troubleshoot Front Wheels not turning

Yes. It was the front tires that were not engaging, I replaced the DS shaft and my front tires now engage. My front drive shaft would spin but with a broken shaft, no output to the front tires. I need lockers.

    FJ80 no spark problem

I had a bad fusible link at the battery which looked good (outside) but wire was making intermittent contact; replaced all of them and fixed my starting problem.

    Charging problem

I would replace or remove the stereo; you know it's bad. I was getting erratic readings from my tach gauge and finally the LC would not start. I had a bad fusible link at the battery. Replaced all for $7 and this fixed my starting problem. Check the EFI relay/circuit and the wiring at the back...

I'm getting 5 miles a gallon. Any ideas why?

Your ECM maybe/is getting a signal to dump fuel from a defective part. Hope these links help. https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/6464-3fe-fuel-supply-problem-i-fixed.html https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/653835-92-lc-running-rich-high-co-hc-failed-emissions.html

Need Help With Rear Axle Leaking

Bad welds are uncommon with good welders but not unheard of. Just have a welder grind down the weld where the leak is and re weld it. It is an easy fix.

    Charging problem

These are the hardest problems to detect, ones that come and go. Sounds like it is operating properly now so it will be very difficult to pinpoint the problem. Sounds like you Mechanic has already tried to recreate the problem to no avail. I would not rule out a battery drain. If you use a...

    Charging problem

You would? Really? Let's see, he has a hard time starting the car, then he can not get it started the next mornoing. So what do you think? What caused the battery to become so weak?

Need Help With Rear Axle Leaking

Just keep checking the oil (once a week/more or less) and make sure it does not get low until you can fix the leak properly. If it is the housing, ask a welder to fix it, shouldn't cost over $50.00.
