I'm going through the same thing..I got a 78" 2f sitting in my garage waiting to be rebuilt, and tbi'd, but the v8 thing keeps being brought up. I figure it would cost about the same to go either way. Dilemma...
U guys crack me up...I live in rogue river. Last weekend I caught up with the jefferson state offroaders guys from down south. I joined into their run up granite hill out of gp. They told me about a cruiser club in gp..how cool...so whats going on this weekend?
Goodto know..it just for show then..So found a 78 2f that had low compression in no.4. So how'd much do u guys think it will cost to rebuild it or does it even need it. The guy said it was running rough when he pulled it. And isn't there any thing I should do take it run my 36's.
Good thinking with the EFI..SO WHAT YEAR SHOULD I LOOK FOR AND WHERE DO U KNOW THEY ARE AVAILABLE AT. I'm installing a sm 420 in it this week so I can get that low gear...I have an intake manifold built for a four barrel to, so wouldn't it be easy to put a throttle body on that?. Thanks again.
I have a 68 fj. I'm putting 5.29s in 73" 30 spline axles, and gonna run 36*12.5 swampers and my 68" motor that has bad compression in no.5 and 6. What's a better motor my 68" or the 73" that I acquired with the axles I'm using. Basically what's the difference between a 145f. And a 155f ?.
