Anyone had luck with the "kangaroo paw" rotors - can't think of the name right now. Might be better than most and likely a lot less then Brembo (i know those are $$$ - at least on bikes)
Good luck LTR!
These are DBA(Disc Brakes Australia) sold at MAF. Get the 4000 series heat treated...
It is definitely not a 2F cylinder head, as all 2F heads start with a casting number of 61***, all F heads start with 600**. Big difference between 1974 "F" and 75-80 2F is bore diameter, F bore is 90mm and 2F is 94mm. Crank throw is the same at 101.6mm
No, it'll actually help hold the frame together. The mounting allows the bumper to become a part of the frame and helps to reinforce it. A weak bumper will distort and actually damage the frame.
Not trying to confuse you. What I am saying is that if you don't put the military wrap at the fixed pin, it's really not critical like it would be on a FJ40. I personally did put the military wrap on the fixed pin on my 60 because this is where it normally is and IMHO where it should be. I'll...
Ok, the thing is pretty sweet looking, but I don't know that I would pay more for it than an ARB bull bar. $749.00 is a little steap?
What features does that bad boy have that make it worth that much besides the fact that I don't have to wait for my buddy to make the time to weld me up one...
1" trim packers from 4+Plus both sides to lower rear an additional 1". No lean. Springs started out as OME DAKAR CS004RA(drivers side) and OME DAKAR CS004RB(passenger side)
Where is that bumper from? Got any close ups of it. I am planning on building one soon and that is perfect.
It's the new MAF 4+Plus front winch bumper. Lots of pics on the MAF site
The reason you would flip the spring on FJ40's is that there is a short leg and a long leg from the eye to the center pin and you want the long flexible leg at the shackle end and the shorter stiffer leg at the fixed pin. FJ60 springs are symetrical (or should be depending on manufacturer) so...
OME now imports their higher rate "competition" 3", 4" , and 5" coils to the US. Slightly more expensive than their standard coils. Part numbers below
OME418 3" ft heavy
OME419 4" ft heavy
OME420 5" ft heavy
OME421 3" rear heavy
OME422 4" rear heavy
OME423 5" rear heavy
Here's an FJ60 w/OME we did for a customer from Alaska that wanted his rig dead nuts level out of the box, but did not want 4" lift w/shackle reversal. We stripped 2 leafs from each rear pack, put 1" trim packers in rear. Ran 3" over 4+Plus shackles front, 2" over 4+Plus shackles rear. He kept...
Old Man Emu sells a "center bolt spacer" basically a bushing so the spring pin fits into the large seat hole properly and does not move. If you reuse the isolator, OME sells side plates that go betwenn the lower u-bolt plate and the metal retainer so that when you tighten the u-bolts you are...
Get the 4" MAF Kit with Old Man Emu springs. They do not offer the old kit with the off brand Australian springs anymore. This is my 1985 w/MAF 4" using OME springs, u-bolt flip kits, and HD anti sway bars.
RV Cam holds the valves open longer and typically opens the valve further to allow more air/fuel to enter combustion chamber. Best fuel economy will come from stock profile. Unless you are "building" this engine stick to the stock profile.
