I'll say that rebuilding that steering box is mostly a waste of time if you've got larger tires and/or a lift on her. You can pretty easily swap the box from the 80 in for it and will be VERY happy you did. No need for super expensive aftermarket stuff unless you've got some crazy setup but the...
Considering how the mechanism seems to work I would think you could get a slim jim down past the window and instead of hooking the lock you could shoot for the connection to the latch. Right?
In pretty good shape. No cracks or breaks that I could find. The cup holder seems pretty sturdily attached. Upgraded so it's not needed anymore.
$50
You ship it or come pick it up in Austin. Pictures in the link.

This forum is full of heroes. Thanks, @DickM !
Yeah, this was my concern. Just fiddling around with it for the 20 min or so and looking at how to attach it to the aftermarket arm this was exactly what I feared would be the case. I have two thoughts...
1) Could we fab a new hawkbill that's...
Yes, it's a smaller hole but the pin basically holds it against he lever on the handle. I tried to orient it the same way on the new handle, but it doesn't quite work.
Appreciate it! I can't understand why everyone would list them as fitting both front and rear if they fit but don't WORK in the rear.
I fiddled with it for a moment and it sure looks like there's got to be a simple way to mount that hawkbill on the new one but I have like 100 other things to...
But all the handles I’ve found (including these) say they work on both front and rear. I don’t see any adapters to make these function for the lever option, though it sure seems like a simple bolt on arm up top could work. Is there a way to reuse the hawk bill looking piece on the stock handle...
Got a set of black exterior door handles for the 60 from Jason over at Trail Tailor. They’re labeled as FJ60 ‘80-‘90 and from what I see elsewhere online they are supposed to fit. However the little actuator on the back with the new ones has a plastic piece that’s supposed to clip a rod into in...
Sure enough. I unhooked the car battery just in case and hooked it up to the winch. Perfect.
So glad I didn't just yank it apart out of frustration yesterday. Thanks, db3.
Serviced my old Warn MX8000 winch, put everything together and went to bench test it...nothing.
I hooked up ground to the bottom, jumped two of the points up top together (the far one and one of the two that are closer together near the spool), and put power to the third. Got a spark, but...
Sorry, I musta missed or not understood the “pull out” part as I was looking all over those parts around the exterior opening side and was totally confused as to why there weren’t any staple holes.
Feeling pretty dumb but I had it in my head we were sealing the vent hole and not the inlet...
Son. Of. A. Bitch.
Am I to understand the flaps are actually stapled to the interior opening of the duct and not near the exterior opening? I've been trying to figure out where/how they fit or attached to such a large opening. Here's the louvre panel with the old flap on top of it and the new...
