You need to unbolt that to access one of the bolts holding the ACSD but once removed you put that back in place. This is the ACSD unit. I did this a couple weeks ago, it took 30 min.
Hey guys I just picked up a 1990 HDJ81 at auction. I’ve got a ticking noise that sounds like it’s coming from the bell housing, oil pan area. I’ve tried narrowing it down to a specific but unable to. If I accelerate it gets faster. It does almost sound sporadic and not like a rod knock...
I stole the tires off my 40 to see how they’d fit. I think they’re a hair big, they would be perfect if the truck had a 2.5 lift. I think it still looks/drives great and plan on keeping them on the 45. Ill find a different set for the 40 since I have more size options.
I will likely move...
I think I figured out what the holes are In the bedside. Found a pic of this truck and they are almost an exact match so I assume it had a similar set up. Looks like they bolted through the bed to support the vertical wood post. Funny this truck was for sale on mud in 2013 in Boulder.
Yes very interesting! When I first looked under there I was pretty surprised. It all seems to be well done and thought out.
@Unimogguy if I had to guess I would say the springs and ubolts were a generic kit. The stops welded to the frame are custom.
The original radiator overflow nipple was gone so i had the neck replaced the radiator back flushed and i put in a new Tstat. I ordered new hoses but i think they were for a 2F and didn't work so ill have to send those back. In the mean time i figured id fill her up and take her for spin. I...
Totally possible! I’ve been trying to figure out how to cover them or find a functional use for them because they do bug me. Having the painted caps makes it easier to forget about them though.
I think I am. They actually did a good job and tied it into the frame. I’ll paint it when I have some time. I prefer the look without it but Its growing on me.
@tornadoalleycruiser I agree with @middlecalf they are too far apart and too large. I think at some point it must have had a rack or something bolted to either the inside of the bed or outside.
That might be a good option to cover a couple of them up though!
