Interesting...I am not finding wire anywhere close to that area. I understand that the wire ends on the center pole, however, where does it connect to?
Hey all!
I was and have been driving around no problems. I noticed the oil pressure gauge was not registering.
I pulled over and found that the black boot that was normally covering up my oil pressure sending unit was gone. Completely gone.
Now my questions...
1. wasnt that supposed to be...
I did take it to the auto store and they tested the battery which was good but I replaced it with an odessey battery and when they tested my alternator they said my voltage regulator was bad so I replaced it. The altenator would used to run about 14 all the time then it started at idle to hit 12...
slowly but surely the alt gauge has been showing less and less volts. I do not have any auxilary components. My question is, i have a brand new alt to put in but it is in the 10 oclock position. Does it matter if the external voltage regulator is positioned at 10 or 2 oclock?
I would prefer the...
So, I am thankful for your post. I have had this problem every morning for awhile. What i did not realize was when i got frustrated and "shook" the crusier i was actually helping start it. It was not until i read your post that it was adjusting the gas level for a engine start.
I know now that it was pinging like crazy on the interstate.
It no longer pings at all so far.
Also, I don't believe the dizzy moved that far by itself.
Yes he did. I found out that, over the course of 2 years it was always running advanced on timing.
I always wondered why everyone talked about cold starting. I never did it once with the timing off.
Now I do it every morning.
So basically it was like I was running the choke all the time and it...
Alright everybody! Mystery solved! I had to tow it to the mechanic. The distributor itself had been moved a quarter of a turn during its last 20 years of its life. He reset it to FSM and WOW! it purrs! I love it! I always wondered why it roared sadly. (it also has way more power!)
Now to...
I have used Jewel Bohanian in Bentonville AR. He does a great job and always has 60s in the garage. He is a one man operation and he works on his own schedule.
Yes it does. I set it to 15, 36, 24. (Thank you Fj60AZ who i am sure he was refering to vechicles not ladies. Haha) Which is the only way it seems to work. However, it just won't fully turn over. Or if it does it lasts for 2 seconds.
Is it possible that firing order could be specific to vehicle engine?
Some mechanic down the line says "this isn't by the FSM but it works for this one."
The reason I ask is because I am wondering if I am off by one or two cylinders.
Thank you Landpimp. I agree with it being simple. I will check the fuel line pinch tomorrow. Goodness.
I did notice the old dizzy cap I took off had melted a bit on the inside and the smaller input for the vacuum hose has broken off.
Is it possible to put the dizzy on wrong? Perhaps over rotate...
I did not replace the rotor. I did take it off and use emery cloth on it.
I did check the gap which is .o32
Is it at all possible to miss align the rotor?
It seems to fit like a key in a door correct?
Thanks for the quick replies! I have a question to clarify.
Is the 1st cylinder closest to the firewall? Then making the 6th cylinder closest to the radiator.
