Hi, Nice ride.
If you look at this page, I have made a 3d model of the frame for the soft top: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/looking-for-a-soft-top-for-bj74.92215/page-4#post-1153236
I also made a PDF drawing of the tube parts and it can be downloaded here...
Take a look at this page: http://new.auto-kat.com/index.php?route=saleepc/toyota/parts®ion=EUR&modification=4939&group=6761#68646
The covers ar number are from 68645 to 68648 in the figure.
Nice project!
The switch disable all front wiper functions.
Diddn't know all the differences between ragtop and FRP.
Do you know witch year they produced ragtop 73/74?
Thanks for all the care!!
I removed the roll bar tonight and all the 6mm bolts was ok. A cuple was bent but ok. The great impact hit the right side (roof, door, rear and front fender), even since we drowe off the road on left side. So it must have been upside down :whoops: One of the rear...
My good companion through nearly 6 years (LJ73)is almost dead (at least in artificial coma for a while). We were two people driving my 73 on Saturday night. The temperature was about 6degC and it had been dry weather in a week. Inside the woods the pavement was good but there was a place that...
Nice ride, you have the same soft top as me.
To fold it down, you have to fold upp the sides first. Then you can fold the roof several times back.

I think its important to have enough ventilation inside the holow frame from the inside. The original paint inside are not good and the difference between cold air and heat from the inside make condese inside the windshield. I have made some smal holes on the underside to let the water out. I...
The light duty LC have coil springs like the 4runner. It have 2" OME and 2" body lift. With the wide fender and some cut out it runs certified with 38". Im not shure what tyres it is. He changed to 60 front brakes and HiAce rear brakes.
You are welcome to Norway anytime!
Its a lot of nice places go off road, but the laws are wery conservative about driving in the woods and on snow. There are few regulated areas left for that kind of fun but we still have some. I live on a farm and have some places to go around here. We have a...
The Cabrio works fine in all weather but I use my FRP in the winter. You can roll up the sides, the back and only the "front roof".
Here is a model of the frame work of the soft top:

I can't say that all the dimmentions are 100% accurate, but you can use it as a help for building new. Text is in Norwegian and Dimmentions in mm.
In europe the early light duty and some HD cruisers come with FRP and 2 piece doors. Every *J73 imported by Toyota from -87 to -90 in Norway is like mine and none with OEM soft top. And mine is a cold spec cruiser with double heaters and defrost.
If you got half doors, it's quite obvius how to remove the top. You got some black plastic cover with bolts inside. First remove the rubber band overlap, then the wires for the window heating, then the bolts attach to the frames. Then place the cowers for the frame holes
