    It has to be the stock factory front diff. I haven't modified it and I am 99% sure Jay didn't modify it either. I know I don't have any paperwork reflecting any such modification, for whatever that is worth.

    I am going to assume that at 170K miles that is has the original timing chain. You don't replace timing chains in 80s like you do timing belts in the 100s. But I'll have him check the records and see if there is anything in there.

    The Carfax said it hit a utility pole in 2000 under the first owner. It had paintwork done to it 17 years ago as a result. I have not had time to go down and put my hands on it myself to see exactly what/where/how. Once I do I will update the thread. I obviously did not run a carfax on it...

    Thanks, and yeah, I woulda gone to jail if I woulda caught the little asshat who did that. Touch-up paint would help, which we left off so it could be seen. Or maybe it can PDR out. Either way it doesn't detract from the overall quality of this LC, at least in my mind.
