I let a manifold leak go for several years. I ended up with a bad cat on that same bank. Not totally sure the manifold leak was the cause, but I do suspect it. California Cat was like $1500
The snow was really wet, rain was falling from the sky, but still got to spin the wheels, cross snowy creeks and high centered on the hard packed snow. This low clearance IFS rig sure does have to push the snow.
I've got OME heavy duty 1.5 inch rear coils, OME torsion bars cranked up to lift the front bumper and winch, but still have the factory stinkbug stance. I had Fox IPF shocks on all corners, but had to swap out to OME nitros for the front with the extra weight. Tires are 285/75/16 Wildpeak ATs
Definitely an awesome and thorough job. You’ve got a clean truck and a very PMd engine bay. 🍺 to many years of happy cruising.
I chimed in with the clamp fix while you were still figuring it out. Have put about 2k miles on it so far and no leaks yet 🤞
Each rig has its own story and yours will...
Poser shot above Gold Lake. We ended up shuttling our bikes on the back of the cruiser to Packer Saddle this route. Let’s just say the main pivot needed some snugging up.
Hi guys.
Looking for confirmation on 2002 LC DS part numbers.
From Toyota parts.com I’m finding the part numbers listed below. Looking to replace the 2 u joints on the front and rear prop shafts.
Front : 04371-60060
Front: 04371-60051
Rear: 04371-60070
thanks for your expertise!
Nice work getting your cruiser back to health and trail ready.
I’m on the 2nd tour with my 02, having given it to my wife’s cousin. Got it back last year and slowly getting it back to road-trip health.
It made a huge difference. No rattles from the suspension. Still have some interior rattles and the rear bumper squeaks a bit. The items that were truly roached were sway bar end links, ubjs, lbjs and the rear ucas. The other bushings were worn, but not destroyed.
The steering is tight, way...
I had the same issue, same bolt. I ended up with RTV around that whole corner, then added this little beam clamp to keep it tight. Definitely a hack move…I’ll report back after our spring break trip. 🤞
The kids are outta town and I’d been collecting parts to tighten up the suspension. Maybe the toughest couple days I’ve had beneath a vehicle. Them bushing are a beeootch.
Thanks to @2001LC for the amazing YouTube tutorials.
