...or wants to.
Figured we might as well have a thread to keep track of who's left, where to get parts, etc.
Me:
92 FJ80, original, untouched system, still blows ice cold.
91 FJ80, spent 10 years or more topping off the system every couple years, finally had a shop refurbish it two years ago...
UPS guy left a heavy, tall package leaning against my garage door during a really windy day. Heavy gust came up and the hinged door kicked the packed right smack into my turn signal and shattered it. :frown:
Zero damage to anything else, just a direct hit on the light housing.
UPS is going to...
Anyone else getting this? Thread opens to the same place (~5 posts back from the end of the thread) for about a week, even when there are new posts; then eventually one day jumps to a further spot, but then sticks with that one. Almost never goes to the actual first post I haven't seen yet.
After 17 years as an 80's owner, finally threw a code this morning on the way to work. (This is on a 92.)
Feel free to try and guess the code.
Contest ends when I get home and find my trusty paperclip. :hillbilly:
Anyone else have insufficient cooling from a newly installed CSF?
Any onboard tests for clogs/blockages?
Fan clutch replaced with OEM just in case (no change), fluid level is good, belts are good, hoses aren't collapsing.
Basically everything was fine before replacing cracked original rad...
I'd be going OEM no question if it were still available.
Cost is not my main concern; I want as close to OEM quality and fitment as possible.
Brands/sources?
Curtis
Since no one ever seems to be able to find it:
A. Turn the ignition switch on.
B. Turn the control switch to SET/Coast position, and keep it there.
C.Push the main switch ON.
D.check that the indicator light "CRUISE" lights-up in the
combination meter.
E.Turn the SET/Coast switch...
Seems like there have been a few threads recently in which parasitic drains (too much current with the vehicle off) came up. So what's the proper testing procedure? I've got a digital multimeter, but I'd sure love to have someone spell out step by step what I need to do so as not to blow myself...
Ok, so I try to help folks out around here when I can, but I'm still an electrical idiot. :o
My question: If I want/need to run without my backup battery, what do I do? Just remove it and make sure the cables can't contact anything? Or remove certain parts/cables? Or...?
TIA,
Curtis
So I'd been putting off doing this because I somehow had it in my mind that it was going to be a huge PITA, but it went very smoothly. I have the FSM but didn't really follow it; basically, I just pulled anything that obviously needed to be pulled, and left everything else in place. For example...
Hey guys,
Happened to meet "90 weight" in Ashland today:

He's probably going to come by my place tomorrow afternoon to check a few things out; any and all assistance would be welcome.
I'll keep you posted...
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a '92 with a mild lift (including caster correction bushings) that was installed by the PO.
Inspecting under the rig the other day, the two front bolts on the left front control arm were loose. Do I just crank em' back down and keep an eye on them, or...
In regards to this thread:

I suppose I need to eat a little crow, and karma's a *****, and all that, since I was the one arguing that T-stat's "never" fail in the closed position, and that there's something else the...

Medford couple on hunt for tree missing; search continues 24/7 | MailTribune.com
A Medford couple's hunt for a perfect Christmas tree turned into a massive search for them Wednesday after they failed to return from their trip into the woods.
Nearly 40 people combed the hills...
I'm currently looking at a very clean, mostly stock 92 FJ80.
It has a dual battery setup. (Seems to be well done, but I'm no expert.) As I didn't have my Cruiser with me for comparison, it took me a minute to realize what they'd removed to fit the second battery; It finally dawned on me that...
