Oem green flare restoration
I'm looking for all the parts I would need to replace the fender flares on my OEM green 80 series (1996), e.g all flares, gaskets, mud flaps (non-running board type). Shipped to California. Please let me know. Thx. -Jay
LC vs. FJC
I have both an FZJ80 ('96) and an FJC ('07). I've had the LC since 2002, and it served as my DD until I bought the FJC (new). I think an important point to be made here is that they are intended to serve different demos. It's true that there is some overlap in the intended uses...
What a fan club this guy has, and for good reason. Beautiful job, James! I'm trailing in litterly all the other modification areas, but I went all out with the Dynamat when I first got my 80.
Back when there was nothing rattling on it, and it had the stock tires, the insulation made a world...
You've got to seek out pics of the subwoofer so you can steer clear of it at any price. It is the cheesiest (OEM) thing I've ever seen on/in a Toyota. No matter the sound quality, it is just too Space 1999 for me, even in the new FJ. It is possible to order the premium sound package without...
I read that spec somewhere too, but I flipped a U when I test drove an FJ last week, and I have no complaints relative to the turning radius of my 80.

Biff, I found that with all the help on this fine forum, even as a total neophyte, two weeks ago I was able to swap out the radiator on my 80 with absolutely no problems at all. Wait a tick... I did whimp out and remove the entire grill and headlights to get at the damn thing initially. Oh...
36 in April of 2005. Film and TV producer. Love the 80 for all the reasons already covered and because it simply kicks ass on just about everything else I've seen.
Fantastic job, dude. I love your mods. Everyone has asked and you have answered most of my initial questions, but I am curious about one thing: what type of electric grill are you considering for your tailgate? I have taken a look at that location for installation of a propane burner from a...
Here are pics of my bondo patch and cheapo spray can bedliner job. If special care is taken when you sand and then paint with the texturized bedliner, dimples can be avoided entirely. I only got good at this after some practice (oops), so the first section I did does have some dimples.
It...
Thanks, Doug! Now I feel like a real A** I failed to plug that back in after disconnecting it to get it out of the way while installing my dual Optima system last week! Ahem. Oops. You're awesome. I'm sure we'll meet soon, fellow NorCaler.
