Took vehicle in for windshield replacement. When it went in it had a grey a two toned dash and door panels, dark grey and grey, and a grey steering wheel center. When I got the vehicle back, the steering wheel center was black, the darker part of dash was back and the...
I'm away from my car for a few days and would like to order various spools of wire.
Does anyone know the gauge of wire used in the loom going from body to tailgate?
Cheers!
Fuses are all good, however.....
there are a number of exposed and severed wires in the harness between where the wires exit body grommet and enter tailgate grommet.
Not much room to navigate.
Anyone had the pleasure of repairing these?
Anyone else have an issue with the rear wiring harness (at tailgate) causing the dash cluster to light up?
After opening and shutting tailgate, strange symptoms occur.
Initially, whenever the brake was depressed, the reverse light lit up and the outside mirrors moved as if in reverse.

My '03 LX470 just thru a P0500 code. Speedo and odometer stopped working, Check Engine, VSC TRAC and VSC OFF dash lights lit up.
Dash tranny gear lights out. Cleared code, but keeps throwing.
Where is the VSS located?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!!
I was able to figure out how to disarm instead of remove.
-depress valet side of switch while turning on engine. After engine starts, stop pressing and turn off engine.
Alarm is now off.
Still locks and unlocks using remote and/or key. Can open doors without alarm going off!!!!
Of course, if you...
Well, this is bazaar....
I have an iPhone 4 always plugged into my dash lighter socket.
I unplugged the phone from the cord (cord still connected to lighter) and ALL my static has gone away.
WTF??
Changed the cord to an Apple USB-Firewire to connect an iPhone 6s.....
As soon as the phone was...
Same symptom occurred after I swapped out the factory unit with a Nakamichi HU.
The Nak has had better than great AM/FM reception in two previous vehicles (Rangie and BMW).
Reception using the stock antenna was piss poor at best.
FM slightly better than AM
In the Rangie, I could get AM local...
What I'm saying is, buying a previously salvaged car on the open market....not one's vehicle one bought back and fixed as one's own....
is roulette.
Take the OP's LC....
For sake of argument I'll accept that prior to the accident it was worth $10000, and on the open market that is what he could...
That's true, but.......there is the other side of that coin.......
A 1980 Porsche 911 SC was purchased by my best friend from a well known classic car dealer in CA.
The car had a repaired salvage title.
8 months later, he was hit broad side in an intersection.
The front end separated and went to...
Agree to a point....
Once the plates are surrendered, CA DMV issues a Salvage Certificate and deems the vehicle NOT roadworthy.
One can get the vehicle roadworthy and registered in CA as a "revived salvage."
This requires a receipt for ALL replaced parts to prove that they are not stolen.
It...
What I mean by that is....
You can only get liability insurance........and it will cost you.
Should one get in an accident, even a minor one (in CA $500 damage must be reported) one's car is a "salvage repair" and is valued as such....hundreds $ not thousands $.....therefore it's totaled and off...
