SOLD it ALL!
1970 FJ40 with Ford 302 conversion project in progress. Have engine trans out at the moment. You get it ALL including the title and plates! If it is cruiser related it is yours. Have new wiring harness, extra birfields, core calipers for disc conversion between the rails...
What year motor do you have? Start by researching what the computer controlled on your SBC for the year your motor was built. I switched a computer controled carb from an '83 SBC 305 to a carter 4 barrel and did away with the computer completely.
The AIR system is the system that controls the...
Either pump is OK for your application. As long as the pump (electric I assume) delivers enough fuel at volume and pressure for your engine. Electric pumps have been known to fail so consider a backup if you are off to the wilds without a parts store close by.
As long as it is a pre-1980, "800" box you should be good. The 800 box has a 13/16 input shaft while the 605 box has a 3/4 input. Don't know if there is a stregth difference between a 3/4 ton Heep and a 68 Impala but the Impala was a heavy SOB.
If you are going to have to have someone make the lines for you, I would just buy a pre-bent set. Making your own can be challenging and you will "F-up" a couple of times during the process. If you want to try and make your own I'm sure you can find a web site that will give you the basics...
Mace, 71 40 is getting a 5.0 HO with an NP435 to a 3 speed t-case. Cammy fabbed a mount for the clutch slave and need headers that drop between the motor mount and the slave. Not going SOA any time soon.
Troll it looks like you have over loaded your vibratory cleaner. I bought the same vibrator frm Harbor Freight and loaded it up like the one in your pic. Too much stuff as I think the load limit is 5lbs. Try some 70 grit blast media in the bowl for cutting the grime. Glass bead in the...
Hey renoron what headers are you running on your motor? How about some specs on your motor trans etc. I'm in the process of droping a 5.0 HO from a 92 stang in my 71 40.
Vacuum leak? Do either of your exhaust manifold/headers glow red? If so you may have an intake manifold leak. Is the Whoop you discribe constant? Can you hear air escape when you crank the motor by hand?
No install. YET! The tank is on the back burner until I square away another project.
Pretty straight forward from the pics in the thread previously mentioned.

Frame treatment
There was a thread a week or two ago about using parafin wax and mineral spirits to coat your frame. Even if dust collected on the oil it should just wash off.
I've looked at every t-case rebuild thread on here but am left with a question. Is there any way to turn the H/L arm so that it is over the center of the top plate on a three speed t-case? (basically turn it 180 degrees.) This is a 71 vacuum shifted case.
Is the shaft welded to the shift...
