    Sensortive question

Simple answer to your question is the wires have polarity. The thermocouple at the end creates EMF voltage. If the wires are swapped the gauge will not read correctly. The good news is it will not destroy the dissimilar metals creating the EMF voltage to hook it up backwards. The hard part is...

    Sensortive question

30 years ago one of my college girlfriends got nectared up and started showing off her boobs. All her sorority sisters said she was "being stupid." I think the wires jumped out of the plug like the boobs and thus the sensor is being stupid. I do seem to remember more excitement over her being...

    Click but no start!

There is a noted wire terminal issue on the Neutral Safety Switch plug as well. I ordered the wire terminal leads and plug from Toyota in case I found an issue but mine did not have a wire/plug issue.

    Time to replace the radiator

I hate to throw this at you but there are numerous threads on this if you Search the 80 forum. Depending on how you use your 80 there are options. I ran the CSF Copper/Brass in mine as a DD for several years. Many do not like this radiator and I found it to heat soak on long uphill grades...

    Click but no start!

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/shift-indicator-light-reverse-light-issue.1324107 Just went through a similar issue. When the 80 was hot the Park/Neutral Safety Switch was loose and would sporadically move out of position and not permit the starter to engage.

Useless post of the day - Park Indicator Light

Park indicator light lasted 267k miles and 29 years 4 months of service. OEM parts were just that good! That is a 3 to 1 burn out ratio for Drive to Park indicator light.

Loud wheel wells? Rain / water noise

@Kernal is on target with the above post. The factory wheel well coating on mine is flaking off and was never very thick. There has to be a 2024 product that is a more durable rubberized product for undercoating. I have tried the 3M, Duplicolor, and the HKS products on other projects. The...

Loud wheel wells? Rain / water noise

My 96 is the same. In the rain the road spray is bad loud inside the 80. I pulled the whole interior and completely lined the floor, fender wells, and quarter panels with Dynamat and then placed closed cell neoprene down with mass loaded vinyl over it prior to reinstalling the interior...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Looks really nice and I am really digging the Toyota industrial Grey!

Custom 3d Printed Overhead Consoles for 80 Series

Is it possible a 3" diameter gauge version could be created? I have contacted a gauge manufacturer in regards to a 3" diameter triple gauge with Fuel, EGT and Boost for turbo equipped trucks. The Fuel could be used to monitor a subtank or alky injection levels.

Project Rosie Ruby the Poverty Princess

Looks awesome! Pretty sure there are some borderline undisciplined erections as a result of this image. I have to ask for the coating contact. We have been using Jethot for decades for Turbo Buick and Buggy builds but the quality I see her looks very good.

Get rid of that hood shake

Thank you for the info. I have had my 80 a long time and never knew there were supposed to be seals there. I have already used panel bond to bond the skin back to the frame as you did. Informative post for sure. When I read the title to this thread I thought I would see photos of hood pins :)

Cruisers and Company 80 Series Turbo

HD's kits are purchased from another hemisphere, Wits' are unobtainium even when paid for and no matter what performance upgrades are chosen as a starting point there are always a "few degrees" more available. I can say from experience with race cars that a mere turbo change leads to swapping...

Cruisers and Company 80 Series Turbo

Looking forward to a bit of a whine and watching a Westach EGT/Boost Combo gauge in Beaulah! Thanks for offering modern options for antiquated icons.

    Adjusting those dang headlights

Sorry about that. I didn't see any vehicle listed in your signature and made an assumption based on your Lexus photo. We had an 08 briefly. Those headlights were adjusted like the 100 series. Six turns would be equal to something like 3/16 of an inch with the vehicle level and frontend 16...

    what is this?..

As designed it is oriented like @jfz80 's picture. It is a power steering cooler. The bend it yours should not affect it's cooling performance. There is a sheet metal pan that should be in place to help protect it. I hesitate to call it a skid pan. Many have replaced this with Derale...

Talk me off the ledge. Thinking about selling

Jedi Mind Trick worked again! Check out Salts Gone cleaner and build up some PEX tubes to slide through the frame and flush the frame out. She is a good looking rig!

Talk me off the ledge. Thinking about selling

Very nice rig for sure. I have a White 96' with 260k on the speedo and have thought about finding a lower mile unit but I have slapped Dynamat in the whole interior, Harrup lockers, a Prinsu rack, ARB & winch, Rear swing out, Slides for fridge and stove as well as ARB Mid Height drawer...
