Anyone sell a replacement frame / gutter for our fj40 hardtop? Mine has terminal cancer- no doubt about it... Not really enough metal left to save.
Thanks for any leads!
Anyone know what the right size bolt is (particularly the pitch) for the bottom of that clamp that holds the shifter linkage for the 3spd?
It is AG in this pic. Just spent 2 hrs, lots of swearing and some amount of beer trying to reassemble this on the truck, just can't get the **** bolt to...
I'm at probably 8" of play, with some fun hysteresis as well.
I've put the wife in the cab, had her work the wheel and it appears to be losing the motion in the box itself, but I will address the shims as well. For caster, I'd feel more comfortable with a real alignment- I'll see what an...
It absolutely feels like a "bucking" when you hit a dip. Thought that was normal! :-) Thanks much, I have been reading about needing shims and this confirms it.

Used this part to get to -6
I had hardline going to my original carb, at a right (wrong? :) ) angle to the inlet of the trollhole carb. Converted the inlet to an -6AN with this part, on Amazon.
Worked great. (the picture is for a slightly different part)
Might be a little too "bling"...
I'm trying to get things a little bit closer to stock. I'm having steering problems (tons of play with no motion). Pulling the steering box, already replaced relay rod, tie rod ends, "string" alingment (helped alot) - gonna do the rest as well, but do I need to look at my suspension as well...
Lots of swearing
Got the pitman arm off. Toasted my gear puller, used a borrowed one from Advance Auto parts, and that plus torch got it off. Wow. Way tougher to get off than any suspension/steering stuff.

Blame the PO for the crazy brake lines and blue paint...
Cutting the shaft went well- very easy. Carb is in, throttle, choke and vacuum connected.
Bending the pipe didn't go as well :-). I've done brake lines before and even have a bender wrench, but it turned into a disaster.
Looks like I need to hack together something else... need help...
I've got the same issue
Same issue here. '69 FJ40. Also, the throttle "axle" hits the recirc fitting from the crankcase.
