They don't turn up much around here, so I was surprised to see two on the same day.
Tomorrow I am going to get some new tires put on my LC, and I'd like to know the factory specced torque for lug nuts going on a 15" aluminum wheel. I had some issues this afternoon with some of the studs on our van shearing off, and I suspect the nuts were severly overtightened. Thanks!
I am going to get new tires in a week or so--I am going with the OEM 235 75 15s. The spare has never been on the road and looks to be in good shape, but it is a 31 10.5 15. Were I to have a flat, could I run the 31 as a spare for a few days if need be?
I am not sure how different the two...
It seems like my sunroof is sitting too low to seal properly in its relaxed state. When I push up on it slightly, the gap closes; let go, it reappears.
Is this gap atypical? And if so, are there adjustments I can do to snug it up? It seems like the adjustments in the FSM are for the...
I have the FSM and am thinking I might try to loosen up my transfer shift lever tomorrow. Before I start in from the top, can I access and remove the pin that connects the shift lever from beneath the LC to see if it is indeed the lever that is binding?
If so, I'm thinking the pin is on...
Looks very nice. If the guy who's selling it is the guy I'm thinking of, it's minty (the guy's an offroad vehicle fan with deep pockets). 28K dollars.

PS front seat wet--where's the sunroof leaking from? NOW w/ PIC
**Please take a look at comment #10
I had some problems with moisture leaking onto the PS floor; I cleaned the front sunroof drain and that seemed to fix it. However, I went out after we got lots of rain, and the PS front seat...
I recently rebuilt my front axle, installed new axle seals (aftermarket but OEM style), filled the diff, and after a while (and pretty much no driving), gear oil dripped steady enough to leave a puddle after a couple of hours. When I pulled the axles they had grooves from the original seals, so...
I've been having troubles with my battery losing its charge; a friend who's shop I'm using for my axle rebuild got to messing with it today and said that my alternator is drawing from the battery when the engine is off. We disconnected the alternator, and the test light indicated that there's a...
Earlier today I tried to install some of the Longfield wipers to no avail. Wrassle, cuss, retry, ad infinitum.
In post 10 of this thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/vendor-marketplace/339142-toyota-knuckle-lifetime-wiper-seal.html the installer hammers out the puckers from the wiper backing...
Axle rebuild greasing questions--revised
I am about to start reassembling the front axle I am in the process of rebuilding, and I have a few questions. When I took things apart, the birf soup was such that it covered everything and I couldn't really get a sense of what grease went where...
I have started on rebuilding the front axle on my LC. I am using the info here and the FSM to some success. Here are a couple of questions, though, that I haven't figured out after searching.
1. What size/thread pitch do I need if I want to use the metric rods to align the brake...
Hey, everybody!
At present, my LC seems to be running okay, but I'd like to make a jumper to use instead of the EFI relay if that starts crapping out again. So, do I need to make a jumper between the two contacts indicated in red in my phenomenal art? Or do I need to makea jumper for the...
I've read many knuckle rebuild threads in preparation for redoing my own, and here's the plan--use Cruiser Outfitters' kit with Timken bearings, replace the brake rotors while everything's apart. I'm going Cruiser Outfitters for economy's sake. I do not plan on much extreme offroad use--I'm...
