Air bubbles remain in the LSPV

So there is a lever on the lspv that needs to be raised up and down as the brakes are bled. Really???

Air bubbles remain in the LSPV

I've searched and read about this topic. My 1997 LC has been at the mech shop for going on 10 days with brake problems. The holidays didnt help speed up the fix either. I ended up having all 4 calipers changed and some new pads/rotors. They cannot seem to get the air bubbles out of the...

Replaced both front calipers for $62.00 total

We have done the proper sequence for bleeding 99% sure. RR LR RF LF then lspv. The location of air bubbles still remain in the lspv. All the calipers are pure fluid. I'm thinking either there was lots of air introduced into the system when we replaced all 4 calipers and we cant get it all...

Replaced both front calipers for $62.00 total

Any tips on how to bleed the brake system. I just replaced all for calipers and have no air bubbles at any of the wheels but bubbles still in the LSPV. I did not have the engine running while bleeding last nite. Is that the key to bleeding the system? I'm pulling my hair out...

    I bought an 80...now what?

Sweet color I wish mine was red. LC's rock. You'll probably get way better advise from others but the front, rear, and transfer case should be 75-90 gear oil. I used Redline last time, not grease. Check the level asap. Front diffs are mucho $. How do your wipers look? Greasy and dirty? Mine...

    Parking Brake Squealing?

hey I'm new too and having a similar issue with my e-brake. Not working is the issue with mine. My cam things are really corroded too and probably don't have enough strengh to ingage the brake. For what its worth you could drive it and hope the shoes wear down enough not to squel. Or pull the...

    Why did I buy a FJ 80?

Ok, I'm sure I'm not alone here. I bought my LC for a family rig not really understanding the vehicles "nature". Every time I drive our cruiser I really want to drive over a rock or through a snow bank. Its awesome and I see pics of drivers pushing their LC over the limit, through rivers, up...

    Revised Bilstein part numbers

i just ordered the same shocks and was confused by the different part #'s too. I got mine (4 shocks) from parts geek online for 323.00 at the door. gonna install them today hope they are sweet considering my present shocks have now lost all their oil and no longer leak anymore.

    Builds 1FZFE overhaul

might want to check the rear heater core tubes bolted to the middle of the firewall. They look pretty easy to replace if rusty with the engine out. I'm still trying to replace mine with the engine in.

LC mechanic in the Reno/Tahoe area

Been doing some time consuming wrenching on my 97 LC. Maybe now (not admitting defeat) or in the future I could be needing some backup close by. Anyone recommend a mechanic with willingness to work/advice on the creatures. Close to Lake Tahoe, NV Thanks

    rear heater tubes

I'll give you some pics and info after I complete the job but so far not going smoothly. Hard time getting to the front bolts by the firewall. I guess I might have to pull of the valve cover or something.

    rear heater tubes

About to launch face first into pulling out my old leaky rear heater core tubes and replace them with the shiny new black ones I bought from toyota. I've got them blocked now so they didn't leak but no rear heat back to the back. With a kid, wife and living in the mountains I've committed to...

    Rust is winning

Just saw your reply. Ya man I've got some serious rust issues too, but not like total axle replacement. I hope. But you should check your rear rotors and e-brake shoes. Mine froze up last week and was making a bone wrenching clunking sound going in reverse. I was thinking what is $%%# noise...

    New shocks

My shocks are shot. The blood has dried and the gas is gone. My LC is a big rusty SOB and replacing shocks sounds easy but I know I'll need a full tank of propane/ 6 pack and some good shocks to feel prepared. Anyone have any favorites regarding on/off road shocks. budget about $400 for all...

    Rust is winning

holy rust lords Thanks for the love!! One could say I opened a can of woop ass worms on my poor pocket book. So the PHH is rightly termed!! Those %^$#& tubes are worth their rusted weight in gold. Toyota spent all day on them and called me on the cell to tell me they need to order more...

    Rust is winning

Hey fellow LC owners. Just bought my 1997 used with 135,000 miles for 7,500. It completely blew me away the first time I drove it. Plus my wife liked it! It seemed like a good deal but now I'm overwhelmed with the massive suspension, siezed bolts, frozed tie-rods, two oil leaks and now...
