Clutch master has been replaced, and the brake fluid has been changed. Everything is working, and ready for the drive to a new home, wherever that may be.
To those who were interested: I have added some new photos to my Craigslist ad, including some more interior and chassis shots. You can see in the shot of the rear frame rails just what kind of shape this 60 is in. It looks like I still need to trim off the ends of my u-bolts.
Let me know...
Hello Jay,
I just sent you an email response. I am in western Massachusetts. I took a potential buyer on a bit of an off road run around my property, and through my woods. We ran in four wheel drive and engaged the air lockers. It ran really well even though it has been in storage for about two...
I will try to get some more chassis and interior shots this weekend. I just noticed in the photos on my ad that if you look at the last photo with the tent open, and the first photo you can get an idea of how much lift the new OME springs added! The purchaser also gets the Donaldson cyclonic...
Hello all,
I have decided to sell my beautiful, low mileage, Australian spec HJ60. Below is a link to the Craigslist ad.

You definitely have a leak, but it's hard to tell from where. I would begin by pressure washing the area clean, and then closely monitor things from there. Check the priming pump to see if the plastic knob is tightened down firmly, by hand. These can leak, but usually only while being used or...
I ran into this same issue while rebuilding my front axle a few weeks ago. The Snap-on flare wrench sounds like the best way to go. What I have had good luck with is using vise grips to clamp the end of my cheapo 10mm flare wrench so that it doesn't "flare" open. This method has served me well...
$26,000! Oh my, I will have to keep that in mind if I ever consider selling my 1983 high roof HJ60 with 60K original. For that price they should at least get the stains out of the carpet in the back ;)
I finally got around to replacing spring bushings on the front end. It kind of felt like driving the old amusement car rides that kept you in place with a continuous metal bar around the track. The old poly bushings crumbled to dust as I was pulling them out ! I literally had to sweep them...
The relief valve in your second pic is generally the culprit. I'm amazed you were able to get a good picture of it! The piston ends up wearing grooves in the cylinder walls, and the then cams sideways and gets stuck. The fix that is generally recommended is to use a specially made longer piston...
I have an '83 GX Sahara that was brought to the U.S. from Australia. These variants must have been a bit more Spartan in their early years. No LSD, no A/C, but it does have a high roof, third row seating, 5 speed manual, Sahara graphics down the side, and a unique looking steering wheel. It...
