I am looking at my Haynes manual, and it is showing there is a Deceleration Sensor, and I remember that the ABS motor would start running when I slowed down to a crawl in parking lots, so maybe the sensor is bad in my truck? The fuse also looks good, i've checked it many times...
The ABS on my Tacoma stopped working, at first the motor would run everytime I would push on the brakes, then it stopped working, then it started working about 3 months ago, and would run everytime I pushed on the brakes, and then it stopped working about a month ago. I pulled all the sensors...
I just replaced the starter with an OEM brand starter, what a pain to get it in and out, but now that I have got it figured out, i can probally do it all in less than an hour. It starts very nice now, and it's got a lifetime warranty...
The starter was fine all summer long, and never had a problem, until last week. Now the starter runs when ever the battery cable is connected, so everytime I reconnect it, it runs, no key needed... I am going to try and pull it in the next few days...
Red would have been the best color to go with, it is the best color to see at night, and easiest on the eye. That's why alot of the European sports and luxury cars have red insturment lights...
I used the stuff in my old mercedes 2 times per year, when I changed my fuel filters. The stuff works great, and I have a local supplier that sells it for a little over $5 per can :D
That's sort of what it is looking like, and the POS Haynes manual I have doesn't really do a good job with the removal process either. I did get the bolt off the lug for the positive battery cable off, and it was a little corroded, so I cleaned it off, and this actually helped it start faster...
How am I supposed to get the starter out of there? They seemed to have put the bolts on the bellhousing in places that are very hard to get to. I think I am going to take my truck someplace where they have pulled a few starters on the 5vz.
Tonight when I started up my Taco, I heard a strange noise, I attmepted to drive home, and the noise continued. I pulled over to the side of the road and shut the truck off, it was still making the noise. I finally figured out the starter was sticking, but it was only going for about 1 minute...
Actually I think I might have found 2 filters that are relabeled Denso's, but with the cost of shipping, it will be cheaper to spend the $4.31 at the dealer
The filter I used was 90915-YZZD3
I think i've might have found a source on an OEM equivilant filter, I think it's made by Denso, more once I figure it out.
Who makes the best bed rail caps, I am thinking about getting some Bushwacker caps and tail gate cap, they seem to be popular with other truck owners around here. When I have some spare money I will try and get the bed Line-X'ed, but the OE bed liner will have to do for now :frown:
I pop riveted the bumper back together a few nights ago, and it is holding up very well. With the black bumper paint , can't tell it was damaged until a few feet away...
