I'm getting ready to Sell my '91, so I was thinking of cleaning engine.
Glad I found this thread, hope I don't screw anything up.
One thing though is I've heard people say only wash the engine with it running
And I've heard others say it shouldn't be running when you wash it.
So does it really...
Well, considering that it's only a rubber/plastic hose for $90, that is bad.
The hose isn't even that big. $90 is more expensive than quite a bit of tires out there (not for our trucks, but tires none the less).
$90 is a lot considering my financial situation.
That's cool it lasted almost 20...
Well that seemed to work. Truck puttered for a min or so when I first started it and drove it around, then all seemed good. Idling back at normal RPM also.
I called our Toyota Dealership near us and apparently the hose costs $90. $90 for a freaking hose....You got to be kidding me. There's no...
This it?
Well I hope I taped up the right thing.
I searched for Intake hose and the picture looked like that hose.
After I taped it up it still seems to putter some and idles at about 1200-1300 RPMS.
Should it be idling that high?....Before it idled at 1K.
Hello all.
My truck seems to have something wrong with it. Not sure what happen.
I took my kids to school and picked them up one day and everything seemed fine.
Then the next day when I went to go pick up kids, when I started backing out of driveway the truck started sputtering. So I...
Nope.
Didn't know I had to. I thought I just had to bleed the air from the caliper I replaced.
So I need to lift back of truck take off tires and bleed those (starting with the back pass.), then lift front of truck and bleed again?
Man that fxxxing sucks. Took my wife and I a long ass time...
Well O'reilly's had a caliper for $47, so I just decided to get that.
I put it on and thought I bleed all the air out of line.
I stopped getting bubbles and I was seeing clean fresh fluid.
I've never bled brakes before, but looked online and it looked simple.
It took my wife and I about an Hour...
Cool thanks for that Phil.
I'm going to try taking a 5lb hammer to it first. I don't have a torch
and I'm sure if I took it somewhere they'd charge me for it and I
honestly don't have any money to spend right now.
Thanks again.
Yeah I'm trying not to do that. I have absolutely no money right now.
Ok I looked at some rebuilt kits and noticed they weren't that much, but
in order to do the kit I'll need to get that piston out and the problem is
I can't get it to budge.
Would taking the caliper apart and hitting the...
Wow thank you much for all the advice.
We first tried with caliper on Rotor and with a screwdriver (that worked on all the others)
and then a pry bar. The thing wouldn't even budge.
A "C" clamp kept sliding off the other side of caliper. So I found a small Vise.
I've popped the top on my Brake...
I'm having a hell of a time trying to compress the lower inside
piston of my PS brake caliper.
I was able to compress all other pistons with no problem, but
that certain one has been locked up for awhile apparently.
I've tried sticking a small vise on it and cranked the s*** outta
it and...
Wow Thank you much guys for the advice.
Going to give that a shot tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm just worried I might break something. Kinda Excited also, it'll be
sweet doing something to my truck myself, by myself.
Thanks again for the help.
1991 Cruiser
Going to attempt to change my starter today.
Have never messed with/replaced parts without having a buddy
over that knows some s*** about vehicles. But this seems simple enough.
Only thing I have to go by is a Haynes Manual.
First off, do I change the Starter from under...
Nah replacing the starter because it just won't start sometimes.
I turn key and have power and everything, but absolutely nothing.
So acouple guys I know that know a bit about cars told me next time
it happens, tap on the starter with a hammer and try again and if it starts
the starter is...
