Apparently being stored in a climate controlled garage wasn't good enough. somehow over the winter the rear axel seal decided to break itself. it's a 72 rear axel, where can I get a seal? the only ones I can find are for later models.
There are a number on ebay for between 130-200 bucks. They all look about the same. Anybody know if there is a difference or which ones to avoid? I'm running an electric fan. Thanks.
Do they make a thicker friggin' donut gasket for these things? My y pipe won't clear the oil pan-since we put a one piece neoprene leak proof gasket on it. It's very close but a thicker donut would save the day. Thanks!
Oil Leak
Colonel, thanks for the reply. Nope it's not that. That hole has a sealed bolt in it. I may need to try a different PCV valve. I believe it's some gremlin in the PCV circuit.
Oil is getting pushed/forced out in large quantities through the area where the oil pan meets the lower timing cover. Has one piece neoprene pan gasket. Mechanic told me "the guts are getting sucked out of it." Put carb spacer and PCV valve in and worked perfect-problem solved... Parked it...

Does the right side of the center bracket mount to the tranny hump or a short seat bracket? I welded in an aftermarket floorpan and can't remember how the thing was mounted. The SOR pic's don't show it clearly. However, I now have some extra drain holes....
