It's on Vancouver Island, so super-cold temperatures don't exist. Having said that, we get snow, and it handles great. It has a strong heater that gets the inside warm quickly once you start driving. For really cold climates, you'd want to install an oil heater.

Sorry, no idea where to get Toyota factory soft-tops. Maybe ask Wayne (Crushers). Mine is not a retro-fit soft-top, the roll bar, doors and struts across the top are all built specifically for a soft-top, I would think converting a fibreglass top would involve some fabrication.

Looking for info on 7x series LC from Japan. . .

Suggest what? Where to buy? What to buy? What would you like to know? There are professional importers on the forum, hundreds of JDM Landcruiser owners here as well. Take some time to search through the various posts here, I think you'll find the Japanese imports are well-discussed.

HELP! Rear main seal gushing oil

I replaced the main seal on my BJ70, did the clutch at the same time. The oil pan gasket was also leaking, so check that first. It's a big job, you need a transmission lift or improvised floor jack, lots of time and a huge air gun to get the flywheel bolts off. I'm no mechanic, so it wasn't...
