The H in my HJ is fine at sea level. Yes it's pokey but we don't race these vehicles. It is SOOOO reliable; just bullet proof.
I have a 12HT that I never got around to installing.
I should mention, I do have the 5 speed connected o the H.
Oh, at 11000' the H is great on the trails but...
My favorite vehicle of all time; it's time to part ways. I just don't use this great truck like I thought I would. It is absolutely loaded with great items. I'll send a ;list to those interested. Search the FJ 45 forum for "blasphemy"; it gives some details of the build.
Some of the "stuff"...
Hello,
I have a RHD 1976 HJ45 shipped here from Australia. I'd like to get an OME suspension with a small lift and I'd like to replace the hard lines for the brakes with braided st/stl lines.
Anyone have part numbers and source?
Thanks!
Eddie
I'm about to install a 12HT in my HJ45. I use this truck to camp in the Rockies up to about 12000'.
My current engine, an H, really struggles with the thin air. Going slow on the trails is of course great but on the asphalt to the trails is a bit of a pain. I don't mind slow but 20-25 mph over...
we have a place outside of Salida (Monarch/Garfield). You should have plenty of good trails open. Dont miss Waterdog Lakes, Boss Lake and all the trails around Shavano (off of 50). If you go to the Continental Divide store at the Monarch Pass (cant miss it), they have a great book that covers...
...well, if it sold for that price, the comps would rise and our net worth would increase; maybe it's not a bad deal!!!;)
...hurry, buy every rig you can!!
Found a 12HT so we are golden! (thanks to an IH8MUD guy!) I'll be sure and do a swap thread.
Anyone know of one here already? I searched and found one that looks like it may be in progress but either the posting slowed or the project did.'
Anyhow, I'm pumped.
Would this also be a...
..."Living in the past..." I'll check with the PO on the spacer. it has one but I'm not sure where he got it from. Next time I am with the truck, I'll measure the width; disks on rear and drums on front. The trailhead is a few miles from our place, (going from 6000' to 9000'...) so the back is...
...what engines have the same mounts as the H?
WOW, that was very thoughtful.
The "problem" is, I love this truck. I've totally restored it with a whole bunch of goodies that make it perfect for taking my family and a few of their friends (7 of us) up in the mountains for 3- night camping...
