My FJ 40 restoration is complete and I have a few nice items left over that I hate to throw away. Let me know if you are interested. Prices include shipping to lower 48 states. Prices are negotiable but not much - I've priced these things as low as I can and still make it worth my time to deal...
I had the same problem when dealing with my '74. I was never able to figure out how it was supposed to be wired originally so I think I just rewired it, adding a ground, so it would work. I no longer have the stock MC so that eliminated one problem. I don't remember exactly how I did it but it...
Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure the 3-speed switch works just the opposite of the 4 speed switch - meaning you probably have a 3-speed one in there.
Air springs arrived today and they work perfectly.
jgray - not sure how they would work for you if you do not have the stock cylinders. You can find plates with the ball attachments for the struts online if you want to make you own mounts.
Shawn: PM'd you
One pair left for whomever wants...
They must have changed the supplier recently because there is no way the two with that part number I have in my garage currently will work in this application. They are generic struts - not referenced for any car in particular so I assume they just spec them on length and pressure.
I purchased 6 of them today and should have them in a week. I will confirm that they work and then anyone who wants a set is welcome to them.
Shawn gets the first set if he still wants them.
Is anyone ever sure with something like this? I'd appreciate a second opinion. Here is what I am looking at:
cylinder diameter: 0.59"
stroke: 6"
extended length: 17"
compressed length: 11"
50 or 60# force
By my eye it looks like it will work (this is for inside a gutted stock cylinder...
OK, I've found some that will work but the minimum purchase is 6 ($150). Price for the pair is $50 so I need two more people who want to replace their concussion inducing springs with gas springs.
PM me or reply here if you are interested.
