An overload is possible. I was wondering about that. It was packed for a camping trip with a stuffed cooler, three big guys and a big dogs on a rough track. It did clear out on the way home when two of the other guys were no longer in the vehicle.
Maybe it’s time to switch to OME?
Found my code reader. P505, but it seemed to be idiling ok. I found a post on club Lexus from someone who had the VSC and CEL both on and was able to fix the issue by cleaning wore connections.
The trail was pretty dusty and I was running tail gunner; I’m hoping it was just dirty connectors and...
I didn’t find any leaked. Fluid levels are where they were prior to the trip (250-300 miles). I’m thinking electrical. Is there a ground or a sensor connection that could throw all these issues?
I can’t find my code reader, so I don’t have them. I’ll post up again when I get them.
Strangely...
174,000. I replace the rear globes a while ago. It still rides well though. When my rears went out, it rode like a shopping cart. It doesn’t feel like the globes to me, but I could totally be wrong.
When my tears went out, I don’t recall any dash lights though. Do they typical go off when the...
I’m out on he trail and notice my LX470 is riding rougher than it should. I look down and the suspension has dropped to “Lo” and didn’t want to raise back to normal height.
Eventually, I was able to “get it up”, but it dropped back down periodically with the same hesitation on returning to...
The internal lock button apparently isn't connected to anything. It was showing unlocked, but the lock was engaged. Flipping the button didn't do anything, pulling the handles didn't either. I thought that was because it was all disconnected. I opened up the passenger side door to check the...
Long story short, I removed the power lock mechanism to replace the motor in the driver's door. I couldn't find my replacement motor, so I left the unit the motor goes in, put everything back together so I could drive while I wait for a new one to arrive.
Then I shut the door.
Is there...
That's what I thought as well. It felt more like a "catch" than a lost of steering control. But it hasn't resurfaced since I put the new bushings in. I never got a stability control light.
I believe so. I haven't felt it since. However, it only seemed to present after the truck was driven for a a couple hours at a stretch - which hasn't been done since the repair.
While I was under the truck, I noticed the CV boot was completely torn on one the the half shafts. I'm going to...
We got home safe and sound thanks to you all. Thank you.
Found a mechanic in Bakersfield. He was able to tighten the rack down enough to minimize the effect. Not enough to get rid of it totally, but enough to let me drive safely.
I'm ordering the bushings this week and will probably tackle the...
Great suggestions all. Thank you! I jacked it up this morning. I couldn't notice any play in the wheel bearing when trying to pull the whole tire out/push it in. I did hear a little bit of a light clunk when holding at 9 and 3 and attempting to rock it horizontally. I don't know if that is...
2001 LX470 160k miles.
We are on a trip from LA to SF and back and stuck half way home right now. Here's the skinny:
Started as a mild random jerk to the drivers side front wheel on the way up (not me, the steering wheel). I stopped about 3 hours in because it kept getting worse. The next day...
