I have a 76 master on my 76 disk/drum stock setup. Haven’t driven it yet. 😂😂
On my 78 I have a disk/disk master from a non abs 80-series and it’s perfect. I did the GM caliper conversion on the back so it does have disks all around. I added a Willwood proportioning valve for the rear balance...
Definitely consider swapping the master cylinder to a disk/drum unit (rock auto is where I got mine) the reason is drum brake cylinders have very different pressure/volume requirements than calipers do. It will be difficult to safely balance them with a drum/drum master.

I'm definitely not going to win any awards for expedient marketing but I did just get circuit boards printed. When I get home from Christmas vacation I'll be assembling the unit. I'll let you know how it goes if you're still in need & it works out.
All of my research into the TBI vss signal is that it only really has to be present not accurate, per-se. I would try the Isuzu rodeo/trooper vss and see if the 4 pulse per rev causes an actual problem. Get one at the junk yard. It'll cost just a few bucks.

Awesome looking product! Would I be able to coat over Durabak with this? I'm not fond the Durabak I used in my Aqualu tub. It's on a solid substrate I just want to sand & overcoat for a more smooth durable finish.
Easy on commercial parking lot on north side of indy (near 465 & N. Keystone Pkwy) to Centennial CO to be more specific. email me mike@madorbit.com if you're interested. :)

this looks like its easily worth the $80. You could build one for about $5, it won't be as fancy as this unit, but it'll do the trick
Sorry guys. I haven't been on this forum in a long time. I still haven't built this device. I just deal with the check engine light every once in a while. If there's still interest in the splitter I'll draw up a schematic. it was pretty simple. I think it's still attached to my breadboard. Let...
No dice. Interesting truck but it's a basket case. If you were going to build a crawling buggy it'd be a good start but it's rough. I'd say it's a 2k starter at best. The windshield frame is amazing but that's about it.
This thing's a driver. I'ts got a '61 title and that's it. It's a cool ride. Be prepared to get the price closer to $3,500 since it's all over the FJ40 parts catalog. If it were all original it would be a $10k+ truck. '61s are that rare (not really sought after either, ugh) Awful bench seat, f...

How about a triangle "wing" on the right side (in the photo)? This would allow a soft slide to the control arm instead of the object dropping off the bracket and hitting the control arm hard it could possibly softly ramp itself onto the control arm.
Oh dang. Yeah, if you have no smog equipment then it may not be much of an advantage. I just yanked the entire engine lock, stock, and barrel, and threw it all in my FJ. I figured hundreds of engineers at GM figured something out so I just left it all alone. Besides, one of my primary reasons...
That's great feedback, thank you! I will work to incorporate screw terminals in the initial design. I may make a basic one that has all of the wires soldiered on there as an option. If you know someone who is in the same situation let them know. I'd like to get some feedback as to how/if the...
Interesting ideas! Keep them coming! I think that the PCB would cost around $5-8 then the components would be no more than $10 so the overall cost of the materials would not exceed $15-25. This isn't the kind of thing I'd want to retire on, so I would put the shipped price no more than $30.
Let...
I can do a divide by 8 as well. Here's a proof of concept video. The blinking lights represent the pulse output of the VSS. I could build a unit that will divide by 2, 4, 6, and 8. depending on what wire you hook up. I was also thinking about some sort of selector switch. We'll see how the...
What would be the interest in an electronic unit to take any 4-pulse per rev down to a 2-pulse per rev?
I can make that a wire-in logic unit if there's enough of a demand for it. I am considering using the downey VSS to drive an Auto Meter speedometer and a 1989 GM 5.7 ECM that needs a 2-pulse...
I know this is an old thread, so if you don't like me posting on an old thread... tough! But I thought someone might want to know that this device is a VSS I had it on my '80 FJ40. the wire in question (#2 in the diagram above) should be grounded. It should also be known that it can be used on a...
