There ARE a lot of things that the 40 just isn't practical for.
I think for me that is what is so wonderful about it.........There
is nothing like the topless summers !!!!!
If we could only afford one vehicle in the world, I hate to admit
this, but it woulld likely be the minivan my wife...
Found this link in the 80 Forum of all places....

Just in case anyone has the cash and might be interested
out that direction. ;)
Have any of you added your input on the tentative plans for the 30th anniversary event for next summer?

Sounds like a great idea to me.....
Of course I am already in Missouri. ;)
Sound Great !!!!
Sounds like a fantastic idea to me.....
I never could justify the funds/time to attend a serious off road event. I just know that once the hardcore bug bit me I'd lose everything just to put more into the truck! ;)
Anyhow this type of event is the perfect idea for...
I am hearing that hybrid has become all the rage lately. Not neccesarily the best long term solution by any means, but the most marketable one right now.
There is a comment in the article which is linked back on the thread about interior pics. In the article it is stated that Toyota has no...
Where is everyone seeing a comparison to the Hummer?
I guess if you have never seen a 45lv or any 40 series Cruiser for that
matter........., but a Hummer?
I love that pic at the top of this thread..........It looks similar to a 45lv to me !!!!!
Of course I am a Cruiserhead, but I...
Yes the 1990 manual is one book. It includes all the info that was previously in two seperate manuals.
And yes you have a 3FE......Welcome to the club..!!!!!!
I'm at work and don't know the Part Number offhand, but I'm sure you can find it at the 3FE yahoo site that I linked to earlier...
By the way.......you will want the 1990 FSM for the 3FE.
It combines two seperate manuals from the 88 and 89 model years.
The info in the 3FE files section will be extremely usefull to you also !!!!
For the 3FE trucks the guys at the 3FE Yahoo list are the authoritative resource.
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/3FE/
Of course some of them will be here as well, but you have to hit their list for
3FE related issues.
Well I did manage to complete the survey yesterday before it closed.....
Makes you wonder if it was originally planned to close at that time, or if
someone was monitoring the results and didn't like the results they
were getting.
I was easy on them, but I did mention the Solid Axle and...
Diddo on that atomicpunk51.......
Thinking a used FJ Cruiser would make a decent DD in a few years.
We'll have to keep our eye on the market for used (previously abused) ones.
I'm sure their sales figures are going to be very impressive on these new FJs!!!!
By the way; I don't actually beat the 62 much at all. It is just too pretty.....
Most of the guys would make fun of her cause she isn't worn in yet !!!
Now the 40 is another story.
Good point DesertDude.....
If I didn't have to support my wife and three kids I'm sure I would
have several more trucks, and you can bet one would be a Tacoma.
And yes I would love to try out the new FJ as well.
I'm sure it will strike a chord in the market place and the sales numbers...
Interesting banter fellows.......
Think I'll stick with the FJs that are paid off for now ;)
New vehicles are great, but who wants to beat the crap
out of a new vehicle?
I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent source for waterproof seat covers.
I run the 40 with just a bikini top in the summer and would like to find some cheap covers that would fit her and protect the foam.
There are thousands of options out there and I was wondering if there was a...
Don't know how it could possibly be street legal, but it sure would get around in the mud.
Love to see it up close and see all the details on the fab stuff.
I don't know anything about it......a friend E-mailed me the pic (which he ran across on the net).
Any of you know anything about it ????
Interesting for sure!
After having the same problem on my 62 I can say that it is FUN to track down.
I tracked it for weeks and it ended up being the rain gutters. Only small hairline cracks,
but the water was getting in and filling up the floorboard on the driver side.
All fixed now! It is just one easy...
By the way the only bad part is the gas mileage. If tuned and maintained you will likely get 12-14 on average unless you go with large tires (35s) and that will obviously affect your ability to climb long grades. The beast was not designed to run 70-mph up hills!
There is not a better...
