That's a tidy little bench drill. Is/was it usual for manufacturers to use hollow tube for the column though? Ours used to love making them from solid section, back in the day. Weighed a bit, but solid as a rock. :D
Ain't that the truth. The old kit still beats the cr@p out of the modern...
It'd be bloody boring if none of us ever experimented though, (and quite needlessly too, on occasion), wouldn't it. :D Half the fun is in the trying. As long as one accepts the fact that things can go arse up with a vengeance if things do go wrong, there's no reason not to experiment.
Cheers. :) The old tracker address is forwarded to the new address, so everything should work fine either way, but obviously, the less traffic which has to be redirected, the better. :D The redirect will be left inplace permanently, so there's no worry of the tracker being unobtainable if any of...
This link has info for the type of setup I was thinking of: Toyota 4WD Surf Owners :: View topic - Heater fan / control It could be just your switch that's knacked too, as you suggest.
Quick question for anyone who may be seeding some of the manuals. I've transferred the Portal over to a new domain name, and just wanted to check if the files were still seeding okay and that the new tracker address is being recognised correctly? The .torrent files on the site now contain the...
A bit of a belated reply, but there's a manual for the 4Y engine here which may be useful to you too:
Toyota Workshop & Repair Manuals - Page: 1
It's a VW Taro manual, but that's just a rebadged Hilux. :)
Yup.
No idea what it was originally, to be honest. This thing has been somewhat 'adapted', (and that really is putting it subtly :D), throughout its life. It's running a BMC 2.5 diesel engine. It needs a lot of work, hence why I had to move it. I've garaged it to protect it until I have time...
I noticed the same thing the other week. Had to fire the Gypsy up without the use of the glowplugs after several months of inactivity. Ended up having to use a bit of Ezi-start, (or whatever it's called), to get it firing. The WD-40 did naff all.
Different indeed. :) This one never included forums or suchlike. It was just a straight forward write-up/information site that the owner built up over time as he was modifying his Surf. The F.A.Q, for example, makes a very good inspection guide when buying a Surf/4Runner, and he did some lovely...
If anyone does happen to have a scanned copy of it that they could make available, (another of my non subtle hints just incase anyone has :D), I'll happily add it to the downloads site.
A link for the Surf/4Runner chaps on here: Hilux Surfing - Home Page It's the site which used to be available at
http://showmesome.info/hilux
which went offline earlier this year. Finally managed to get in contact with Codlord who created the site, and he gave me permission to host the...
If you're already using red, stick with red. If not, use green.
With regards to differences, green has a three year working lifespan, red is five. Green can mix/co-exist with other coolant colours, red won't. That's what I remember offhand, (and I'll be corrected ever so shortly if that's...
I've only ever run injector cleaner through mine a couple of times, but never any other additive, and mine is just shy of 200,000Km's with no problems. (Surf with 2LT-E engine). If I did ever decide to use anything for lube, it would be a touch of oil. None of these fancy, (read expensive)...
