Yes, after having replaced the old alternator with a "new one" (a re-conditioned one) everything became normal again. My LC now has in excess of 450.000km on the clock.
Hi,
See my thread

After having changed alternator everything was back to normal.
Hi,
With regard to the sticky note the story is that in Sweden it is compulsory to have dipped lights switched on during daytime. Cars sold in Sweden are equipped with automatic switch on of the lights. I bought my car in Germany (with 145.000km on the clock) where there was no such regulation...
With my OBA capacity we are talking a couple of minutes max to fill the bag.
Fyi it was actually me asking the manufacturer to make a prototype to fit an offroad vehicle (i.e. about 80 cm lifting height)
like my LC. I sort of opened their eyes to have look for the needs of us off-roaders and...
OBA uses
This is my rig using OBA to fill the air jack.
Lysekilen.se
The air jack is heavy duty made to withstand sharp items/edges and short spells of heat.
The covers to the air fittings do not come with the air fittings which are standard ones. The covers are sold in the truck supply shop to cover hydraulic fittings.
Thank's for the comments. After having digested your views I must say I am inclined to stick to the regular change of oil and oil filter.
Happy Easter.
Is there any experience in the community with regard to installing and using a bypass oilfilter. When I say oilfilter I also mean Oil Cleaning Centrifuge like e.g. SPINNER II Model 25
I have a 1HD-FTE built 2000 with 315000km on the clock that has been running flawless so far with normal...
Has anyone mounted an extra hydraulic pump under the hood to run e.g. the winch, compressor etc.?
I will have an hydraulic winch to start with and wish to have it connected to a dedicated pumping unit.
Generator, AC pump, power heater seems to take the best part of the available space in the...
I have now come to the end of this experience.
Today I picked up my rig from the local mechanic here in Kongsberg.
I had insisted on having the "new" alternator" taken away and to be replaced with another "new" one.
This last one has been ordered from Toyota's central warehouse in Brussels. The...
Hi John,
Thank's for your tip. I will have a look at it. The thing is, I will not be able use/understand it myself but
maybe it is a good thing to hand over to an auto electrician.
My truck has not been involved in any accident. Hence, wiring should be pretty much intact.

So I'm back in Norway and back to my mechanic. He checked the charging of the alternator which he found OK. I furthermore described to him my experience with the flickering dashlight. His qualified guess was "earthing problem located to the fuses". He himself did not want to try to help me out...
It has been cold here during the past month, i.e. minus 10 - 20 degrees C.
This week I'm on a buiz trip to the continent so I'm not using my LC. Monday morning I will use it to
drive up to my job in Norway. It will be sort of make it or break it. One way or the other I have top get the car to...
This past month I have had a few incidents which made me feel
uncomfortable with my year 2000 built HDJ100 (272.000 KM).
I commute on a weekly basis from Gothenburg to Norway where I work. Hence, I need a reliable vehicle.
Mid January my batteries (the original ones) gave up in Norway...
Gentlemen,
my rig, yr 2000 blt, also blows cold air on the passanger's feet. This phenomena is not apparent when driving in the city. But at freeway speed cold air blows on the feet. Now during winter season it is very uncomfortable.
The heater works fine and blows warm air as it is supposed...
Thank you everybody for your comments. I think the clue is the comments that this sticker which is found under the hood in my car (2000 blt) is not to be found from year 2003. Since I'm a fairly modest off-roader (no desert driving or heavy duty work loads) I will not disassemble something that...
