    The self-adjuster got bent pulling the drum, so we replaced it. Now the former original adjuster is back on it - got it straightened out with the torch, as well as welded the adjusting lever back together so it is original again.

    Ok, so I fought it and fought it more, but ended up replacing a lot of the hardware. I am not satisfied as to why it was tightening, but it isn't any more.
