    sliders with a body lift.

why? because it gives same clearance as spring lift without lifting all the heavy bits -chassis, engine, drive train, tanks only downside i see is more work than spring lift, but cost less too, and obviously no increase in suspension travel/flex - good and bad Bluey

    home made snorkel

well i did smash a cv that trip, so it and axle shaft was removed and everything else put pack in place. maybe wheel bearings not set up right, even brakes cause there was crap loads of mud on the trip. it was a side of the track job, in the rain of course

    BBM Ricks 80 from Australia

so, with 4" spring lift, no flares and little trimming can fit up to 40" tyres, does that mean a 2" lift, no flares and trimming will fit 35/36" ??? got some spare 35" claws, might try to fit these up to my 80 series (2" lift, flares and currently 33" tyres) and see how they look Bluey

    home made snorkel

yeah, forgot to turn around after weekend 4wd trip. near to end of the track i busted a cv, which took a couple hours to make driveable again and thus forgot all about snorkel heads. it definately made a big difference

    home made snorkel

all i know is when i left the ram facing the wrong way after 4wd'ing one day, car really started to struggle above 70 odd kays/hr on the highway home. this was 3B, turbo, standard gearing and 35" claws mind you. have seen some safari snorkels built same lines as this one, like the nissan...

    The future of bullbars?

and i work in power stations and substations (transmission lines) up to 220kv, so what.everyone has a job, you either like or not. if driving to work scares you maybe you should get another job. taking your awesome opinion about 4wd's not allowed on bitumen/cities (cause this sometimes gets...

    The future of bullbars?

i have just deleted a message i wrote that took me 10 mins to write. suffice to say that any 4wd designed and built from the mid 90's on is not uncortable, uneconomic impracticle blah blah when driven in a city. in fact my 80 series is a whole lot better than the "family car" - holden commodore...

    The future of bullbars?

man, that is seriously ugly.probably stop a lot of accidents/animal strikes because people will stop and look at the hideous bullbar. sad that someone has died, but you are right. if you walk out in front of a (even small 3+ tonnes) truck, it will most likely kill you. bullbar or not

access to back seta in a 74?

I own a 73 series that will shortly be sold because it is hard getting my 3 kids in the back. very good vehicle off road but have bit the bullet and got a diesel 80 series. anyway, all 73/74 series in aus have rear seat belts, lap and sash for sides and lap belt only for middle. the rear seat...

    BJ70 Tachometer

have a bj73 series and my taco plays up too. normally a tap won't get it working, but big bump like pothole does (not always tho) i have heard that these taco's have some weird dc-dc converter behind dash, bi-metal thing to around 7v, and this is normally the problem. this could be all wrong...
