2004 Toyota Tundra double cab
This was a 1 owner truck from California when I bought it.
Currently has 165k miles which will go up as I drive it.
Located north of Denver
$21k or best offer
After purchasing I took it to an ex Toyota mechanic for a full service, all fluids changed, new timing...
I came here to say this, just had a new head on my 1hz, mechanic says it's running a little warmer than he'd expect. Into the forum I go and find a post about the viscous coupling, told him, he put 2 tubes (no idea what size) into it, said it was bone dry, now the temp gauge hasn't broke a...
I feel his pain. Bought from a "reputable" import dealer. All lies and smoke, truck had a cracked head, now noticed the rust spots on the frame that were sprayed over. My mistake. Hope this guy makes out better. It's a sweet rig regardless. Is the new owner on the forums?
Finally, FINALLY got my rig back from the mechanic, new head installed from Australia, and I got to mount my coastal off road rear bumper. Next stop is removing the fender flares and replacing the gaskets....
Ok so I'm looking for either a factory air cleaner assembly or ideas for a solution.
It's a 91 hzj77 Japanese import, RHD.
I have a snorkel on order, previous owner just stuck a K&N filter right on an elbow at the turbo so it's sucking hot air from the engine bay, and I'm worried about it...
So local stealership bad a bare head for 1400ish, bought a new head with new cam, valves, springs, and pre combustion chambers all assembled and adjusted for 2200...would've been about the same to get all the parts and pay a shop to build it.
My head is crapped out, has a few cracks. The cam seems to be good along with maybe some other parts. I have a new head coming with all new valve train.
If anyone needs any parts let me know. Not looking to get rich, just hate to throw away anything another member could use.
Happy to ship...
What I thought was a head gasket is actually a trashed head....and a head gasket.
Have some feelers out for new ones but just thought I'd check on here.
Just need the head, I can rebuild with valves, etc.
Thanks in advance!
