Try putting a hole in it with a screwdriver, sanding isn't going to tell you too much. The frame looks ok to me but looks can be decieving.
I have heared the problems with these frames, was from lack of large enough drainage holes, so they do rust from the inside sometimes. tap on it and listen...
Oh yeah, if you do decide to go that rout, mke sure you run the correct size wire from the batt to the fuse block that will handle the current to run all your accs.
Fuse Block
I am a big fan of fuse blocks.
Make sure it's not a crappy one from the walymart. (Tube Style)
I got one that has 8 slots. When I got my rig the PO had the accs. run w/ ring connectors to the screwpost on the back of the battery. What a mess!! So I put a single wire from the...
Yeah, I seen this in the buy and sell. any idea how many clicks on the unit. Is this the guy out of victoria?
If so I think the rig was salvaged from bretwood auro recyclers. I wanted the frame from that rig, damit!! someone got to it first.
Scoop it up for the t-case, and flip it for what...
If it does turn out not to be the alt.
Three things you can try in under an hour for less than 20 bucks.
1.Have your battery load tested. Clean or replace your battery clamps if they are 'ugly looking' (thats a technical term). Clean your body to neg bat cable ground, and starter...
Evacuating the Refrigerant
Regarding the ac condenser unit on the front side of your rad: If you are removing your rad, it will, as I remember when I did mine need to be evacuated. This requires, a special set of guages, and a refrigerant tank. I worked refrigeration for a while so I called...
I just had a hole fixed in my rad for 70 bucks, but if it needs to be re-cored you are looking at much more. May be worth it to get a new one at that point.
Ouch, all that to get your rig to be legal.
Good luck with that.
Damn... I guess with all that sun, surf, and bikinis, there had to be a catch.
Its like minus 50 where im at so, the smog test doesn't sound so bad.

Are you runing a sub? or just the deck, and the factory speakers? Voltage regulation? I dont have a stereo, just a CB radio. But I have heared of this problem in other vehicles.

Here, Here. whateve that means. If you dont have a stock harness for the accessories, just buy a good quality fuse block, shouldn't cost more than 20-30 bucks with space to spare, common fuses, and looks neet too. no use on spending 300 bucks on a cable. Oops still puting in my too sence...
Anybody out there gotten cold flats before?
The senario: my 62 was parked for about a month, on a street in Calgary, Alberta. Southernish Canadian latitude, inland. Nutorious for warm to cold weather in the winter, (or summer for that matter)
At some point during the weekend, I got 2 flats on...
