I've towed with my 8 speed about 1500 miles at this point. Most trailers not over 3000.
Much like the 10 speed in my F150 what I like about the 8 speed is that it has a really low first gear. Someone did data on here and the math supported a 8 speed vs 6 speed....the 8 speed is like having...
Was on Yankee Boy Basin while raining and slid sideways into a rock. Chipped the paint on the slider and it also chipped the rock. Rock took more damage. Honestly impressed with build quality of SLEE sliders.
I just bought some masking tape (blue stuff), masking paper, and a few cans of Plasti-dip from Home Depot. A lot of the parts will pop off, including the side door moulding, rear moulding that says "Land Cruiser" and the front chrome pieces by the headlights. There's a few videos on the internet...
Thanks! I not a fan of chrome but I think the grill adds just enough to keep it classy while the sides look much better without. I saw the pic of your truck and did a double take. Looks great.
You are the bomb.com my man.
Just wire brushed - painted (happened to have the same paint you mentinoed) and about to anti-sieze my 2017 with hex (odd, but thankful it's hex). I'm in TN so after 5 years the screws cracked no issue, but better take 5 minutes more while I'm greasing prop shafts...
Ok thanks, and to follow up, I think I found a way to better word my question.
Would opening those bolts just a bit, and leaving them open while performing suspension work cause any issues? I don't want to introduce air into the lines and I'm trying to make sure I don't take any chances, but...
I know it's very bad to open to screws too far, but is there any harm in the number of times you open these valves? Not that I'd say we regularly open them, but every 3 - 4 years I'll do lift work (shocks, etc) and just wondered if that added up.
Lastly, when you say 3 revolutions and then anti...
Also can you measure the tires? If you don't have a tire tool they are like $4 from any parts store. They are measured in 16th of an inch, so you'd see a new tire look like 13/16".
For example, my K02s on my 4Runner with 36,000 miles are measuring 9/16", and my K02s on my LC200 with 12,000 mile...
Every example I could find was in Aus.
Also, other than air line routing - the install is crazy easy. The bags compress to find in the spring perches so it's easier than springs.
I'll report back if I end up doing this. Once I get over the $1500 price tag for rears, and add a wireless...
In theory you are correct, but Dave Chapelle has run airbags on quite a few of his builds and even taken them on Ultimate Adventure, which is pretty grueling. 18 wheelers run air suspension for the same reason. I've personally installed some load leveling airbags and they are surprisingly...
This is indeed what I'm referring to. Still looking for someone who's shelled out $1500 for them and then wheeled the vehicle. I want to tow a trailer and offroad, while keeping my ride level. The "bags in coils" are fine and I do that on my 4Runner but I already have an arb compressor and am...
I haven't been able to find anyone with this on the forums, however. I want to do this but I don't want to be the guinea pig.
Also, any concerns tearing a bag during offroading?
Agree with your comments.
And note - I didn't state an opinion on here as I don't know. I just wanted to provide additional data that could help people have a more justified data point.
A few things of note in the video:
Freiburger (if you don't know who this is look up Roadkill on Motortrend...
