For Sale LS Swapped 1988 FJ62

Well, I've come to the conclusion that it's the right vehicle at the wrong time of life. With two teenagers who are about to start driving, life is about to get expensive. Plus, it's too tall to fit in my undersized suburban garage leaving me to do rust repair (the next logical step for this...

For Sale  LS Swapped 1988 FJ62

Selling my 1988 FJ62. It is modified and ready to roll. Bought the vehicle a few years ago with the intention of building a family-friendly off road vehicle. Most of the work was done by the PO, but I decided to do an LS swap. Unfortunately, I've lost interest in it. • Body has roughly 207,000...

Not sure if I can post this here (or if it belongs in the vehicle classifieds), but kind of want to deal locally (I'm in Durham). Selling my 1988 FJ62. It is modified and ready to roll. Bought the vehicle a few years ago (listed on NC4x4) with the intention of building a family-friendly off...

How to LS Swap a FJ60 or FJ62. Quick and dirty guide for regular folks wanting to do an engine swap in their driveway.

Other more experienced folks will weigh in, but it’s my understanding that most people source a 2wd drive train (LS with a 4l60e behind it). There’s an adapter kit from advance adapters that will let you mate the Toyota xfer case to the donor driveline. So, yes. Keep the Toyota xfer case.

How to LS Swap a FJ60 or FJ62. Quick and dirty guide for regular folks wanting to do an engine swap in their driveway.

Not sure if this applies to the FJ60, but in my 62 I neglected to keep the short wiring harness that goes to xfer case. Turns out you need that.

4l60 / Transfer Case Grinding / Is this normal?

Something similar happened to me, too. In my case, the 2wd/4wd linkage arm on the transfer case was hitting the floor of the vehicle keeping the transfer case from fully engaging. At Matt's suggestion, I flipped the linkage arm over and the problem was fixed. Maybe that's happening to you too...

Would anyone like an old 62 gas tank? Replaced mine and need to dispose of this one. It does have pin holes and leaks, but it's a 62 gas tank (NLA). Just thought someone might be able to repair it or line it.

Cookie Cutter 5.3 Swap Into 62

It's my understanding that LS's like 58 PSI. Any chance your fuel pump is going? Or sock might be clogged?

    FJ60 Condenser question

Hi. I actually have two used ac condensers, but they are both for an FJ62 (I think there are some slight differences). One came with my vehicle and I had to wrestle it off prior to my LS swap, so it's a little worse for wear. The other I bought on ebay just for the drier-to-condenser pipe, so I...

HELP!! Need help stabbing transmission in.

Use them to pull the transmission toward the engine - with moderate pressure. That way you're not having to lift, wiggle, and push/pull at the same time; you can just lift and wiggle and let the straps pull the transmission. Also x2 on what @dbbowen said - sometimes the input shaft splines line...

HELP!! Need help stabbing transmission in.

No experience with TLCs, but with many other vehicles I've found that ratchet straps are your friends in a situation like this.
