Just confirmed that the Voltage Booster Pro has a fuse, so no need to worry about overcurrent. Seems like worst case, the circuit you installed it on just had less than 1 volt below normal, depending on what setting you had it on. The diodes only drop the voltage a few tenths of a volt each.
I'm no EE, but I'm guessing if you installed one of those devices on another circuit it would drop the voltage, not increase it. The AGM boosters work by using a diode's internal resistance to drop the voltage on that 7.5 amp circuit causing the alternator to compensate by outputting a higher...
FWIW, I ran 8 ga from the battery, through the firewall, then in split loom with the factory wiring under the door sill plates all the way to the back where the jack is. There's certainly room for that. 4 ga might create some issues. I grounded in the rear - there are plenty of places to make a...
@jakemccurdy Another awesome video. I just wish you had done this before me so that I'd have your install for reference. I'm jealous that Bison Gear changed the MOLLE window panel lower mounts. The ones you installed are much easier and sturdier. I had to remove the entire rear side panels to...
Seems like when they tasked the engineers with implementing theft prevention on the GX they forgot to add AND keep it convenient for the owner to use. Happens all the time…we just built the thing we were instructed.
Have to trim the KDSS valve cover. Not difficult and noted in the instructions. A couple holes in the sliders didn’t perfectly align with the frame and it was a bit of a bear to get the drivers side in place behind the ridged lines by myself...
The fridge/cooler can be charged two ways, from a port type I'm not familiar with (looks like a IEC power port - typically used for 110V AC, but with 2 pins) and a XT60 port on the battery itself. It also came with an adapter cable from XT60 to whatever the other port is. All inputs accept 12V...
I haven't posted any of my mods in a while, so I figured I'd get back into it with the XT60 port I added for my Anker Everfrost Cooler. I'm currently waiting on a couple more parts to finish my fridge slide.
I added a XT60 port to my power distribution in the way back. I wired it through a SPDT...
These are the parts I used when I deleted my 3rd row seatbelts on my 2015. They're for the ecru color:
CAP, ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH, RIGHT ECRU
Part Number: 6247660011A1
Supersession(s): 62476-60011-A1; 6247660010A1
CAP, ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH, LEFT ECRU

Great video! Been looking forward to this one. Funny how big the GX seems...until it doesn't anymore. Nice of Past Jake to save a beer for Present Jake.
If you want to get the 2 row garnish to cover the slots for the seatbelts you removed, these are the parts I used for the ecru color:
CAP...
I read through the CL discussion and just ordered a MX+ (on sale for Amazon's Prime Day). @Acrad, @r2m, or anyone else with a OBD Link, have you used other 3rd party apps? Any you like (or don't)?
I use a Jetboil Luna attached to my HalfGen, so I can use my FastBoil pot for water off the same propane bottle as the Half Gen. Since my isobutane canister and burner fit in the FastBoil pot, I keep that in there in case I run out of propane. It’s not likely now that I have a 5# bottle, but if...
I got that same cargo box on sale at REI last year. It’s worked great so far. The extra dry storage space is awesome. Nice to be able to see out the back window again.
Yep. I transitioned an older cutting board from the kitchen for camping and used my old Coleman camping cutting board for the electrical.

@jakemccurdy I did indeed draw inspiration from your install.
@swild There's some info in my build thread, particularly Sheptastic 2015 GX460 Build - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/sheptastic-2015-gx460-build.1282907/post-14459701 and Sheptastic 2015 GX460 Build -...
The eternal struggle of making what you have work, or scrapping it for another solution.
I got a good deal on Anker's Everfrost fridge, which solved my power issue as it has an integrated battery (no need for house battery or external lipo battery pack). Problem is it's too tall and I can't...
