    will cracked air intake hose cause the engine to run rich and create more smoke or condensation out the exhaust? I just cracked mine after changing the spark plugs out.

    I've had the same rattling symptoms, but when I went under the LC the rattle appeared to be coming from inside the muffler itself. Anyone else found this to be the case?

    there's a place in florida, www.carstereohelp.com , they repair toyota factory head units for about $175 and guarantee it for 1 year. I've had mine repaired there about 3 years ago and it works great, fixed it once under the warrantee. All the same CD barfing problems were fixed.

    i just repacked my BIRFs about 2 weeks ago and don't recollect whether the studs were tight or not. Is there any accurate method for checking whether the studs are tight, once everything is assembled? My guess would be to periodically check the torque setting on the nuts for the next few weeks...

    Speaker mounting depth in 80's

    I used Kenwood speakers that have a seperate tweeter that can be mounted on the plastic covers for the side mirror access. Very easy install, sorry can find the model number.

    Raventai's solution is very slick. I tried the other methods suggested and most were a pain. Just make sure you get the clear hose with the fillaments in it to stop it from collapsing.
