LX570, 2018. Driving in town yesterday. Notice the rear driver side window was open. Went to close it and it would not go up. Fiddled with the window switch next to the steering wheel, and eventually it did go up.
then about 2 hours later, was driving down the highway at highway speed...
IS IT?
the way shown allows you to fill the spare up with air WITHOUT dropping it onto the ground! that little yellow "low pressure" lamp gets pretty annoying after a while.
the danger in that is what happened to me. Looked low, put in 3/4 of a quart. Then the next day checked the dipstick, and it was 3/4 of a quart ABOVE the max line. Having TOO MUCH oil can be a problem due to frothing
I am shooting for the middle between the two marks from now on.
so you are saying the FIRST reading you got was the good one, before you wiped off the dipstick and re-inserted it.
that makes sense.
its like the tube is too narrow or something, and the oil climbs up the tube and stays there.
yeah i was wondering if the oil splashed up into the tube., and the vaccuum of the dipstick seated in the tube kept it up there. You do not get a clear flat line on the dipstick, but a smear of part oil, part no oil
LX570. every frigin time i take a dipstick reading it is off +/- a quart.
a week ago, it showed i was way low. Added 3/4 quart, and it just barely made it up to where it indicates. Checked again 2 days later, and it was below the reading level, so i added a full quart.
then a week later i...
i would def not mix tire types, like two dunlops and two michelin! AWD cars do not like the wheels turning differently all the time! It wears out all the driveline parts.
I MIGHT be tempted to have four Dunlops if the two rear ones were just replaced.....expecially if i did not have the...
just for reference, i try to keep around 39 PSI in my geolander HT 20" tires. It is a trick as the outside air temp has a HUGE impact on the PSI reading!
but even on a very cold day, i will not go below 35 psi as a start point
Put a load across the battery and THEN measure the voltage. With no load, the battery voltage rises to an unrealistic level.
of you want to do it with the entire car off. put a 120 ohm 1 watt resistor across the two terminals, or clip on some other load, like a spot light, etc
My advice is to never go with aftermarket hatch pressure struts.
Got some aftermarket ones at an auto zone for an RX350, and a couple months later one popped off of the little round hinge thingie, and almost nailed me in the face.
the attachment is actually a fairly high tolerance thing. A...
