I ran the AFE intake on my 2016 GX460 for about 6 months and then went back to the stock air intake system. Horrible drone at certain throttle/load conditions for no discernible change in performance.
I echo all the sentiments about the GX towing - it *will* do it, but not with any authority. It is heavy enough that it never feels twitchy, but somewhat underpowered for real towing.
I pulled one of those "Aussie off road trailers" (weighing ~4200 loaded) from Dallas TX to SLC UT and back -...
I built it to drive, but my history with vehicles suggests that I’ll get bored with it and want something different in 3 or 4 years so we’ll see.
And yes, that motor is an absolute beast.
For the sake of keeping this a GX forum... here's a link to the Mustang build. :steer:

I’m not sure who/when updated it. I checked the file status as the tune instructions stated and it matched so I went on with the tune file install.
YotaWerx sends an up to date stock file with the tune files so I assume would have been just as easy to flash that as it was to flash their tune file.
It definitely changed as I drove it - I could feel the difference right away, but subtle. I'm on the 3rd tank since I put the tune in and it seems like it has stabilized now.
The midrange power improvement is noticeable but not dramatic. The best part is the transmission behavior - it will...
I think I saw it on facebook - or maybe instagram.
They're in El Paso Texas.
Here's the email I got when I ordered:
YotaWerx Tuning GX460 NA 4.6L tune pack; 2016MY, ECU ID: 60X81
Please see attached for your tunes!
VFTuner software can be obtained by visiting VFTuner.com and downloading...
They were very straight about the expectations for power gains - on a naturally aspirated engine with no other real mods, you can't expect much. They told me they thought it was ~10hp peak gain, with larger gains in the midrange - and that's what it feels like to me.
Not at all like a pedal...
Installed the YotaWerx tune …. Very pleased with it. Not a ton of power gain, but the midrange feels a bit stronger.
Biggest difference is throttle response and transmission shifting - much improved.
No noticeable difference in fuel mileage - if anything it is ever so slightly better.
The...
That is only a measurement / sensing circuit and has very low power draw - which is why the stock fuse is only 1A if I remember right. A diode will burn out (like a fuse...) if any significant current is put through it - so a failure like a grounding of that wire would be protected anyway.
With the GM diode mod, the Lexus will charge the AGM perfectly.

I have an AGM as the starter battery - it's a 34R. I think if you always run those things with the engine running, the alternator can keep up with the demand and not significantly over discharge the battery.
I went a separate Li battery in the back with a DC-DC charger and am very happy with it. In an emergency situation, I can reverse the DC-DC charger and use the Li to charge the starter battery, so it is very flexible setup and works well.
Note that I elected to make a completely separate 12V...
Not to disparage the WeBoost at all - I know it works. I have the CelFi Go X system installed in my GX and it is absolutely unbelievable. I only have the little stubby antenna that comes in the kit, and it absolutely works. There are Aussie made whip antennas that can be used as a substitute...
