Thinkiing of buying a FJ, how do you like yours??

Thanks for all the input, this helps a lot. Looks like the new FJ is developing a devoted following like it's predecessors. Guess I will be getting another cruiser. If any one else has more input or advice feel free to keep it coming. Thanks again

Thinkiing of buying a FJ, how do you like yours??

I went out and drove a FJ last week. I have been looking at them for while, but wanted to see how the did over time. I also knew that when I broke down and drove one, I would soon have a new car payment. I have a FJ 62 and had a FJ40, not to mention a few 4-runners, T-100, and a few other...

    Voltage reading on the guage

I think my voltage regulator is going down hill. My vlotage guage reads 3/4 on the dash. Can I check the vlotage comming out of the voltage regulator and where should I check it. My Toyota manual said I should have 13.8 to 14.4 volts. Any suggestions?

    Winch Bumper Design... Feadback wonted.

I like the look of it and would be interested. The question comes down to price. If you ask the same price as an ARB you will sale some, but if you are under their price you could sale a lot. There is a market for front and rear bumpers for 60/62's, as you can see by the responces, but I...

    What is this

I was greasing my drive shafts and afterwards I found a quarter sized disk stuck in the grease in the front yoke of the front drive shaft. Is this a seal which was pressed into the yoke?

    Speaker Sizes for 1989 FJ62

I just put four new speakers in my 89. The shallowest speakers I could find were infinitys (which are great speakers), Best Buy had a sale on them, buy one set and get the other half price. Ues the ones listed on the best buy computer for the 89 LC. Anyway, pull the door panels, cut a spacer...

    2 problems, have you encountered

Thanks Thanks guys, it was a sticky window switch for the volt meter, works normal again. This site is making me lazy, I should have thought of that myself. As for the starter, I plan to ordered some brushes from toyota, get some graphite grease and do the starter when I get a dry day...

    Best Mods under $50...

steering shaft Hey guys I had my gas tank done about three months ago so I guess I was fresh on their books so toyota sent me a recall notice. It was for the "STEERING RELAY ROD for certain 1989 through 1995 4WD trucks." I guess this is a recent one and has not been out long. Sorry about...

Two Freebees Go to a Toyota dealer and get your new gas tank and steering shaft. Both are recalls and what's better than free Toyota parts and labor.

    Temp Sending Unit?

Good One I can't say how many people I asked about this, even the Toyota people. I tested my gauges, replaced both temp sending units, thermostat, and had my fuel sending unit replace when I got my fee new gas tank from the Toyota recall, but nothing fixed the problem. The last thing left...

FJ62 Door Lock circuit breaker fuse location

Who would have thunk it This is a good one. I got a wiring diagram, tested all my switches in the drivers door and ran it down to the circuit breaker. Had to go to Toyota to point out which one it was and bought a new one. A couple of months later the lock quit working. I gave up thinking...

    2 problems, have you encountered

Has anyone encountered either of these problems before? 1) When I start my 62 on very cold mornings the starter does not disengage for two or three seconds. When it's warm out side or the truck is warmed up this does not happen. There is no grinding of the flywheel when this happens. 2)...

    Por 15

Pull up rust bullet and do read about it. I used it on my truck and it went on great. It does not need all the prep, does as good a job I think, and even coasts less. It would be worth the time to research.

    Dome light on a 62

Does anyone know where/how the wires run to the front dome light. I have checked and I do not have power reaching the light and I don't want to mess up my head liner tracing the wires down. The wire diagram shows that the rear dome light which does have power is in series with the front dome...

    Zbart, oil, or what

My 62 has absolutely no rust, it's from the west coast, and I want to keep her that way. Rust is the #1 killer for these trucks. To start, I have been cleaning the frame and coating it with rust bullet and toping it with paint. What do you think is best for rust prevention out side and...
