    GX460 Transmission fluid cooler

I would not mess with transmission cooling if you are still under warranty. Doubt it would make much difference if you wait to do it after warranty expires. For AT temps I like my OBDLink MX+, but there are cheaper alternatives out there.

    Rear-end vibration

A road force balance might be in store as a first step, given the history of it starting after the new wheels and failed regular balancing.

    Incurable passenger side lean

That’s great info Acrad thanks. So from what I understand, the system is largely passive, but the valves to the accumulators are ECU controlled, and close under certain conditions such as at higher speeds (to stiffen the system and thus the sway bars). so vehicle height should have little to do...

    Incurable passenger side lean

Does anyone know how KDSS is natively controlled by the ECU? I used to think it’s a completely passive hydraulic system, but It’s obviously not.

    Incurable passenger side lean

Make sure you test the lean on a number of very, very flat surfaces. Spin the truck around a few times too, to see if it changes anything. Small floor irregularities can drastically change how much lean there is. My 2014 GX460 has a lean at 90k miles just like yours (rear passenger side is...

    460 Rear Ladder

Thoughts about putting a person’s weight on the end of the rear door? Curious about integrity of the door hinges over time. obviously the side ladder version shouldn’t have this issue

GX460 KCLV for premium vs regular gas

completely agree. given the KCLV adaptation it almost certainly means that the engine is adjusting just fine. If only there's a knock counter on OBD

GX460 KCLV for premium vs regular gas

Just reporting back after driving through a couple of tanks of gas (this boi is thirsty!) KCLV values (fluctuates a little: 87 octane: 16-18 91 octane: ~23-24 Yummy 93 octane: ~26 I might be able to convince myself that premium gave me 1 more mpg (17 vs 16). But that’s probably within error...

GX460 fuel trim bank 1 and 2 mismatch

So I’ve been eyeing closely the fuel trim numbers in my 90k mile 2014 GX460 on OBDLink. Truck drives with no issue and no codes are triggering for me. At idle (550-700rpm): LTFT Bank 1 +3.1% LTFT Bank 2 +0.8% At 1500-2500 rpm: LTFT Bank 1 +2.3% LTFT Bank 2 +3.1% STFT appears to fluctuate...

This is GREAT - been looking for this info forever in my OBDLink. Thanks.

    GX460 Transmission fluid cooler

I might go ahead and try just leaving the stock AT thermostat as is - I'm ok with low 200s as a running temp...will see.

    GX460 Transmission fluid cooler

Doesn't the AT thermostat/oil heater have a built in switch to do that?

    GX460 Transmission fluid cooler

Do you guys have any thoughts about using an aftermarket (say, 20,000 BTU) AT cooler that bypasses the internal radiator cooler? I wonder if that's enough to keep the AT cooler than stock. There's really very little info out there on BTU vs temps for a bypass setup. I would imagine so, since...

From FJ Cruiser, to 80 Series, to GX460

Might be worth bringing to a shop to do a little baselining. Do you know if the brake system was ever serviced? I had my brakes bled and front pads/rotors changed (they were warped) and brake feel is about 50% improved, and a little less squishy.

    Builds URJ150 Peridot Prado Build

Sorry if I missed this in the thread - is the front quarter panel usable with the prado facelift, or did you have to swap that out too?

GX460 KCLV for premium vs regular gas

…and to the issue of power - check out post #72 at this link - example is from testing KCLV vs dyno results for the 2UR-GSE in the Lexus ISF. https://www.mr2oc.com/threads/data-logging-the-2gr-fe-ecu.680130/page-4 If KCLV makes a difference in power, that would likely explain the improvement...

GX460 KCLV for premium vs regular gas

You know I’ve read many reports of that too - that so long as it doesn’t knock, there is no harm using 87 whatsoever. We probably can’t assume the LS3 and the 1URFE behave similarly when using different octanes, however. which raises 2 questions: 1. I assume by the way Toyota designed the...

GX460 KCLV for premium vs regular gas

That does make sense - since the ECU retards timings with higher engine load. I will fill up on premium after the truck gets back from the shop and report back.
