The reciept I have seems to say that 2300 was the price of the work, and that if the costs should go up that I would be notified and that he should ask for my permission. As far as I understand from the looks of the work order, 2300 was the price for a working p/s conversion. But reading from...
So i've had my 67 40 over at this shop in houston for a power steering conversion. I was promised it was going to be done in 3 weeks and it ended up being 3 months.... now that all the work is done on it, the mechanic is trying to collect even more money from me. I was told the conversion was...
Okay so for all trail purposes, the F is definatley the way to go? Maybe ill just restore and rebuild the engine, and swap in a 4 speed tranny... i really dont like the 3 on a tree setup....... what would be the best option for an F engine on trannies/transfer cases? Or maybe i should just shut...
I've had my F engine checked out and it seems to run pretty good. I have a 67' 40 but I dont know much about it. All I know is its SLOW. The max speed it will get to is about 70 - 75... which I understand is awesome... but it would be nice if it didnt feel like i was flooring it to get to that...
Don't know if you've found the right guy or not, but the only person I let touch my cruiser is Tom Borrow. He's got a shop called "offroad" on westhiemer near west oaks mall. Hes a knowledgable guy, and has done just about anything you can name with fj40's and 55's. He's currently working on my...

Well doing the lift kit, I was hoping to get a better ride out of it. Should I just replace everything stock and go with the bigger tires? It sounds cheaper... and im alwayz up for cheaper...
Im thinking of doing 33"s to 34"s.... Im looking for something that will give me a good drive on the road.... and something that will handle good on the occasional beach trip, or off road trail... im not looking to do any major rock climbing or anything like that... what do you think?
